Plumbing Problems Questions

Plumbing problems? First let me give you some background info: My house was built in 1990, and we are the first and only owners. We had plumbers come out to snake the line several times over the past couple years because our washer keeps backing up into our sink *nasty*. This works for a month or two, then it just starts backing up again. P.S. We don't put any food particles or grease down the drain at all. Any solutions?
plumbing problems? When I turn on my hot water in my bathroom sink it sounds like the pipe is ready to take off flying or something. How can I fix it without having to call a plumber.
Plumbing problems? For about a month, for some reason, it sounds as if we have air in pipes when a toilet flushes. Now, it takes forever for a toilet to fill back up. We built the house in 1982. Besides calling an expensive plumber, is there anything I can try myself? Thanks for any suggestions.
plumbing problems-Recently after kitchen sink drains freely, it moans and groans.? We are on a septic tank but have no problems other than the moaning and groaning in the kitchen sink.
So my neighbor is trying to blame me and my husband for their plumbing problems....? because whoever built the houses back in the day ran the pipes together. They are basically trying to get us to pay to fix their plumbing...... I am seeking revenge, 1.--the obvious they are trying to make us pay for their plumbing... 2--they let their dog piss on my front porch... I am thinking of several ways I can make them suffer, but I need some more suggestions....what do you got? Hmm cherry bombs and flame throwers..freaking sweet!
Plumbing problems. Drain action is slowing down and getting venting, bubbling noises from other drains.? My house is on a septic system and I routinely use 'Rid-X' to keep it maintianed. Don't think there's a problem with the tank or leach field. My problem appears to be with the venting of the system. Everytime a toilet is flushed, or a sink or bathtub is drained, you can hear bubbling from the other sink drains. Is there a way to locate the problem.....and what to do when I find it? I've been using chemicals to clean out the drains.

I have some plumbing problems.? We have a 2 story home with dry wall ceilings. We have had some leaks from the upstairs bathrooms. 1) How can I find the source of the leaks without tearing out the ceiling. 2) I have very little ability in repairing things, should I call a plumber or a contractor? 3) I think the toilet in one of the bathrooms needs to be reset. Should I do that first or go directly to a skilled plumber or contractor. Please help, I have company coming in in 3weeks.
How can I fix my top floor flat plumbing problems? I live in a flat on the top (2nd) floor flat in my block. The water pressure is very low much of the time but sometimes ok. Three times recently, however, I've run out of cold water altogether. This has happened in the morning when the second of two people in the house has been showering. I wonder if anyone knows of a common cause and fix of the problem or if I have to resort to getting a plumber out. Thanks, Andy.
I have had a problem with roots breaking into my house sewer line and causing plumbing problems with back up? Does anyone have any suggestions on what to put in the lines to keep these roots killed out?
We just recently bought a new home. We have not been there long and now we are discovering plumbing problems. We have air bubbles coming from one of the toilets. They will not flush. When we run the washing machine, it floods the car port and backs up into the tub. We live in the city limits. The city has come out to check their lines and they said it is our problem. We had a plumber come look at it and he said that they may have to dig up the pipes in our yard. A friend of mine who lives in the area said they had the same thing happen. It turned out they had a septic tank instead of city sewer. My question is..we were told by the realator and the home owners that the home is on city sewer. If we find out that we indeed have a septic tank instead ( the whole while everyone in that house is paying taxes for city sewer) what legal action do we have? Will we be responsible for it? Has anyone ever experianced this before?
PEX plumbing system, rodent problems with it?? I've been told that rodents love to chew on this type of tubing, anyone have problems so far?
plumbing and pipe problems? my furnace isnt working right now so I am using a space heater in my living room and kitchen. Which means my bathroom and bedroom are a bit chilly but I sleep in the living room for now and am more concern about keeping the front of the house warm. Last night I came home from work and my hot water in my bathroom wasnt working but at the same time the kitchen hot water was fine. I live in a small mobile home and my bathroom pipes are located under a pannel in the next room (my storage room) I removed the pannel and put a space heater near the pipes for a few minutes and than the hot water ran. I am using a tip from a friend leaving a faucet in the bathroom trickling and also the kitchen. I dont want to leave space heaters on when Im not home. Any tips on what I can do about my bathroom pipes? Should I maybe keep the wall pannel off and just do what I did last night if it happens again? Or is their a way I can prevent this? Suppose I run a blow dryer on the pipes.
root problems in main line of plumbing? Older house has had problems with pipes - root problems - pipe has all been replaced yet problems remain with roots - is there a treatment that can kill back the roots?
plumbing problem? When I turn on any faucet in the house, there is a banging and sputtering...then water comes out (brown). When I flush the toilets, the water is brown there too. What should I do? Is there a problem with my plumbing system/pipes? I am on city water This happens on hot or cold water
Water/Plumbing problem? There's no water in my apartment builing this morning. Can anyone tell me how this happens? This has happened twice last year. One time the water was out from 10:00 am until 11:30 pm. One would think the management would have fixed or upgraded the plumbing to avoid this problem from happening again.
Please Help! Plumbing Problem!? Hi all, I really have a stumper. The waste water drain line to my washer keeps backing up when the washer tries to spin it out. I have replaced the vent system so that it has suction, I have taken out the p trap, all of the lines are slanting down hill and it is still backing up water. All of the other plumbing in the house works great except the water being drained from the washer. The is no blockage that I am aware of. The house was recently purchased and by the looks of the laundry room floor that I just had to replace, noone else has been able to figure out this problem either. Suggestions are extremely welcome. I am at a loss. Thank you for your time.
Do i have a plumbing problem? My water bill seems unusally high for the past two months. How do find out if an error has been made in billing or if I have leaky pipes and a plumbing problem?
how many people have had problems with the "compressed air"? plumbing tools, like "one second plumber", ... "drain blaster", etc? Also what else is out there (in Canada)other than the one ones I mentioned?
plumbing problem? I'm new at this and haven't been clear, sorry so, here goes. For 8 years all was fine at home, recently hot water began coming from the cold water tap in the upstairs bathroom sink, there are two handles (hot & cold). We haven't changed any plumbing in the house. The hot comes out for about the first ten seconds then it goes back to cold. The toilet has one shut off valve and the water in the bowl is warm, always has been and the previous owner told me it is that way to keep the tank from sweating. We located one mixing valve, took a close up pic. and brought it to the plumbing supply, they told us they never saw that type, we did not change it. What could be wrong?
Plumbing question if anyone knows the answer, but can enamel-building toothpaste and rinses add to? plumbing problems. My drains are going so slow, and a few months ago we changed to enamel-strengthening toothpaste and a cavity-fighting rinse. Can the minerals that build strength to tooth surfaces gunk up the pipes? Thanks, Mark.
Plumbing problem or hot water heater? Ever since a guy came out to fix my hot water heater, I have grimy black stuff coming out of the tub faucet, but it seems only with the hot water. What could this possibly be? The guy was here months ago, and it has not gone away, should I let the water run til it is gone? It has diminished a bit, it seems almost like something is burned., like maybe plastic. He said that it was just debris from the hot water heater, and that it would go away, but has not. And it is only in the tubs, not in the shower anymore, probably cause i use it alot. I have a Home Buyers Warranty, I hope it covers plumbing, and I did tell the guy about it but he said it was sediment, but it is black, does not make sense, so... I guess I may be stuck paying for it.
RV plumbing problem? We have an older slide-in camper (Real Lite). We have a fitting that broke on the interior plumbing (between spigot and fresh water tank). Where do you suggest getting affordable replacement fittings or parts to replace the line between the tank and the spigot?
Is there any kind of paper towel that is safe for septic systems and plumbing? I'm pastor of a church and in one of the church bathrooms, people are always flushing paper towels down the toilet and that causes immense plumbing problems. The solution prior to now has been to post signs that prohibit paper towesls from that bathroom. Folks have to try to dry thier hands on toilet tissue, which seems sort of low-class and troublesome. Our alternatives seem to be a) buy an electric dryer (costly and requires installation and running electricity through an older, concrete block building" OR b) find a paper towel that will disintegrate and is septic/plumbing friendly that works better than toilet tissue. Any thoughts.. are there such towels out there anywhere? How can we provide a hand-drying option that doesn't leave our rest room with wet and disgusting toilet paper but isn't damaging our sewage system?
Are there any real problems with a home built on a concrete slab, i.e. plumbing, floor cracking, etc. ? Any information on research, websites to check out, what to look out for or check to insure construction was done correctly would be appreciated.
Recently, I looked in a rarely used toilet in my house and found a frog. Is this a sign of a plumbing problem? I have seen on TV where lizards, snakes, and other critters are getting into toilets through the sewer/plumbing line. It would seem like there should be some sort of backflow valve to keep sewage and critters from coming into the house. Is it normal for things like this to take place in a 5 year old home that was a new construction? There are no mature trees around that would have broken a line or anything like that. Is there anything that can be done so that we do not have more visitors in the toilets that are not frequently used? Or even worse, before they decide to explore further into our home?
Is hot water plumbing connected to the toilet plumbing? I have a problem. I always flush my cig butts down the toilet and now there is a plumbing problem in my apt building. They will be turning off the hot water for repairs. Will It get traced back to me?
Home Plumbing & Flooding? I got home from work today to find out that we have no running water in the house. I'm not sure if the water has been cut off or if it is a plumbing problem. Water has been flooding out of the toilet tank and the washing maching. Water got all over my floors. We turned off the valves to both but the toilet still floods. Any ideas what is going on here? Maybe the water was cut off and the extra water is coming from the water heater? Perhaps some pipe has a leak? I can't call the water company until tomorrow, they were already closed when I got home from work. I live in a neighborhood that has a shared water valve, so I can't turn that off. The meter in the yard has no valve to turn off. Help! The water flooding from the washer and toilet is coming from their cold water valves. It's cold, clean water.
