Tile Flooring Questions
Tile Flooring? Installing tile flooring in bathroom. Putting down 1/4 inch backer board. Won't thataffect how the toilet is installed. I mean I'll be adding about 3/4 inch flooring. Won't that be too much for the standard toilet wax ring, flange, etc. How do I make sure it'll work?
Tile flooring.? What are the benefits of installing tile in kitchen and bathroom or would linoleum be better? Also, how hard is it to install tile floors. I've had friends who've had no experience and they did it and did a good job. I am just a bit skeptical of doing it myself but just wondered if there are videos out there that shows you how to do it.

Installing Tile Flooring Over Vinyl? We have 1 layer of vinyl flooring in great shape but may want to install tile. Can we put the tile board over the vinyl flooring and then install a new tile floor. Thanks for any information.
Hardwood and tile flooring project. What to do first? I am redoing the tile in my entryway and installing hardwood flooring adjacent to that. Which do I do first? the tile or the hardwood? And why? Ive had conflicting answers from installers. Also, the tile was installed directly onto the floor, no subfloor. Im sure its best to remove it (im dreading that!) and redo it properly onto plywood or any other options??? Thanks for any input.
Laying Tile Flooring?? anyone familiiar with laying tile flooring? never done it myself but i just bought a house and want to do it. is there anything an amature would mess up?? any info would be great
snap together tile flooring? Is the snap together tile flooring okay to use in the kitchen if there is a possible runover of the sink? (not that that will ever happen??)
Are there any types of flooring that can be installed over ceramic tile? I am redoing my very tiny half bath that has tile flooring. I don't like the color of the tile(maybe hate is a good word) so it has got to go. Since the bathroom is so small, cost isn't an issue but time is. I want to know if there is any flooring that can be installed over the tile and be durable and lasting. Or am I going to have to rip it up? Thanks for your help!
I need to get some opinions about tile flooring? I almost bought porcelin tile but I know ceramic tile is much more popular, what about the endurance factor between the two? I want to get something that will last and still look good.Does anyone know about flooring, and could tell me which is best?
How Do I remove linoleum glue off tile flooring? I live in apartment and the last tenant placed linoleum flooring over ceramic tile flooring in the batroom. What can I do to remove this "glue". I have already tried glue-be-gone and a scraper but nothing came off.
My entire house has white tile flooring. No carpet. What products to use? What kind of mop? Please help!? Need advice on how to clean white ceramic floor tile. Too large an area to mop every day, takes about an hour. I am always left with grime or greasy streaks after cleaning.I have tried Hoover Floor Mate and traditional mops to no avail. Instead of enjoying my floor, I dread it every single day. Please help. I have tried Citrus Magic , Pine-Sol ,Lysol, vinegar, Zep etc. Helpful advice greatly appreciated. I need help preparing porous plywood floor previously covered by carpet to install self-adhesive tile flooring I was told to sand the wood and sweep up. Then to add Kilz2 latex primer as a wood undercoater to seal and prime woodwork. My floor is uneven so I was told to add after the Kilz, Henry 547 Unipro a universal patch and skimcoating. For the surfaces prior to the installing of the self-adhesive tile. I would like to know if these are the correct ways of preparing my floor. I was told to sand the wood and sweep up. Does anybody know how to remove a chalky white stuff from slate tile flooring? A while ago I installed a slate tile floor in my bathroom and I have sealed it too. After having it for a little while a white chalky looking substance started apearing on it, i assumed it was dust though. So when i moped the floor with a little bleach and water it some what went away. After having this floor for months now the white chalky stuff has gotten worse and i even hand scrubed the floor with a rag soaked in water, it apeared as if I was cleaning this chalky substance off, but when it dried it was evident it was still there. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to remove this chalky substance. Thank You.
How to cover where grout, laminate wood & tile flooring meet.? We just installed laminate wood floors & tiles in our open space living/kitchen room. We put ceramic tiles in the kitchen area & the wood laminate in the living area. Due to time constraints we had to get the laminate installed first before the tiles. Our tiler was supposed to put something between the wood & the tiles but didn't. He's not being very cooperative about completing this, so we are trying to do something ourselves. What can we put there, so that the grout stops coming apart where the tiles & laminate wood meet? Thanks.
Floormaster Tile Loc flooring - how do you lay it round a sink/toilet? Floormaster Tile Loc flooring specifies that you need to leave a 10mm gap round the edge of the room to allow for expansion. I'm laying it in my bathroom. Do I have to leave a 10mm gap round my sink pedestal and toilet? I can't put it under these items as they're fixed to the wall/floor and all plumbed in. A 10mm gap round them would look a bit daft...
Brick/Tile Flooring Help? I have this old brick flooring in my family room and kitchen. I want to make it really shiny. Is there a product I can buy that will give my floors a great shine? I normally use Mop and Glo but I want them more shiny.
What is the lightest floor tile or stone flooring available? My girlfriend and I are thinking of putting underfloor heating in our Bedford camper, however it requires tiles, stone or ceramic flooring which would signifcantly increase the weight of the vehicle. We were wondering if anyone knew of a suitable lightweight material that would be safe enough to use. Thanks!
Installing vinyl flooring over ceramic tile? My house is 55 years old. They had vinyl floring in the bathroom. We wanted to replce the flooring but when we hauled up the vinyl, theres 2inch ceremic tiles underneath. I think the vinyl was glued down because the tiles are a mess. We bought some vinyl flooring to put back down. Whats the best way to do this? We were going to but 1/4 round but now the floors are tile underenath, and the walls are tile as well so we can't nail it in.
How do I replace wood flooring with tile in entrance way? In my entryway, we have wood flooring that has been warped do to water. My entryway also goes into my dining room using the same wood floowing flow. So, essentially I just want to take a small area (3x6) at the entryway to replace the wood flooring with tile. How would I go about this? Is it possible to cut the pre-existing wood flooring to make an area to lay the tile?
