I'm throwing a halloween party at my house. There is inground lighting in my yard at the base of trees and built in to the deck. I would like to make this lighting a certain color if possible. Is there a film I can put over these lights or some kind of material that won't melt to make them another color (like red)?

Outdoor Lighting and Music in the City? I have a house in a major US City with a 3rd-floor outdoor deck that also allows access to the roof. These areas provide my only outdoor areas and excellent views of the city skyline, and thus are ideal for entertaining. The deck is small (about 10' x10'), has an outdoor light, and has one outlet. The roof has no electrical outlets or lighting. I am trying to find ways, preferably permanent, to light and provide music to these spaces. Also I am a college student on a very tight budget so the cheaper the better. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.
Outdoor/Garden Lighting??? Has anyone ever seen NICE outdoor lighting (something like fairy lights or Xmas tree lights or lanterns) that is battery powered? Maybe using a torch battery or similar??? It is about 5 metres from my house to my gazebo - extension cords are ugly and are tricky with kids around.
I have outdoor lighting on a timer. All outdoor lights stopped working, but the timer itself is working. HELP There are several lights outside that are on a timer. I am sure the timer is working, since it is keeping the correct time and the dial moves with the time. When I manually try to turn on the outdoor lights from the timer, they do not turn on. The lighting outside isn't working. I checked the breaker, and it has not tripped. Now what? What would I look for outside that may be the problem? There are several lights on this timer, so it is not a light bulb or a single bulb ballast. Thank you for your help!
Why does my outdoor lighting system turn on every night for about half a second and then turn off? I have an outdoor lighting system for my front walkway. It is powered by a Malibu ML200RT Low Voltage Transformer. When the transformer is plugged in, and the timer turns the system on, all the lights turn on for about half a second and then they turn off the whole night until the next day, when the processes repeats. I opened up the Malibu transformer and it was filled with water. So, I kept it open for a few days to let it dry. It's now been dry inside my house for over 10 days. However, I still have the same problem. The lights will turn on briefly and then off, I can't get it to repeat until the next day. What's odd is that the Malibu's internal timer keeps working. I'm assuming the Malibu transformer is the problem since it was filled with water. However, who knows? It's worked fine for about three years or so. One other detail, the lights on the walk way are Malibu 11 watt CS14P lights. There are 10 of them. Can I fix the transformer or do I have to buy a new one?
What is the best outdoor lighting system to protect your house from burglars and crime? How have you set up your outdoor lighting system? Including the garage lights and the lights you might have in your flower beds which "spotlight" your house. Any tips would be helpful as there is an increase in burglaries and car thefts in my area (our cars have been broken into 2x in our driveway). Please HELP! P.S. We have car alarms but the thieves are pretty clever here, no alarms ever go off when cars are broken into. I don't know how they do it, our cars are always locked & alarms off. P.S. installing outdoor lighting? I want to install low voltage lighting outside for my walkway however it says the transformer must be hooked up outside to a gfi plug.I dont have any plugs outside but I do have one in my garage right by the door. Can I just install the transformer outside and run the plug( if it has a plug) to the inside plug?
Low Voltage outdoor lighting? I have a low voltage ooutdoor lighting system and need to switch one set to the other how do I get the old lights off to connect to the other wire and what are the steps to connecting.I am a woman so patience is a virtual..thanks for your help..
Anyone looking for decorative outdoor lighting other than solar? Have never had good luck with reliable solar lighting and cheap plastic coverings that can't stand up to elements, so would like to recommend low voltage, hand-made designs from solid copper, for paths, gardens, decks and water features. Check out CopperScapes.com
Question about a type of outdoor lighting? In the picture there is lighting in the trees. They are incandescent bulbs strung out like Christmas lights. Does anyone know the proper name and where I might find these lights? Here is the picture: http://www.hillhaus.com/photos/2006.10.09.Santa.Fe/17.Santa.Fe.Night.Plaza.jpg
I want to add to my low voltage outdoor lighting system??? Can I just put another wire on the transformer leads? I want to put a light in the other direction than where I originally ran the wire. the lighting I have doesn't exceed the transformer rating but will have any problems if I just take a second wire and connect it with the original wire to the transformer. and go in the other direction?
Outdoor lighting ideas? my car keeps getting broke into. i need to put some sort of light outside so it's not dark near where i park my car, which is apprx. 20 feet from the house(entrance). any ideas? i need something with strong light. i have a security camera that doesn't really work at night. so if i have bright light it will probably work. i like the spot light idea, and the motion sensor too..any ideas where i can get them?
What is the best type of outdoor security lighting for a home.? We live close to a major road that gets quite a bit of foot traffic. Now we keep our property dark at night and have a motion detecting flood light. We've been told that the exterior should be illuminated. My concern is that if the house is lit up at night...things like patio furnature, bikes and skate boards will be visible...and therefore more of a target. Thanks in advance for your help...Rob
What setting to use to shoot night Photography without using flash for outdoor landscaping lighting company? I'm using a Canon SLR 10D. I have a buddy who has a lighting landscaping company and he wanted to shoot some stuff for his website. I have an image stablizer on it and I set it to ISO 800 around 1 sec f4 and shooting with no flash. If I set it higher than that it becomes more blurry because some parts are dark and some are lit from the lights. Some of these places that I'm shooting isn't going to be great for a tripod. Would a IS still work in this case or try to go with the tripod?
What are alternatives to outdoor/indoor holiday lighting? For example, what are some good alternatives to strings of indoor/outdor holiday lighting but look just as festive? Although the individual of strings are low wattage, many homes choose to have many strings and will increase energy costs during the holiday season. How can we create a "greener" yet festive holiday decoration?
Indoor lights into outdoor lights? I'm looking for outdoor wall mount sconce style lights for an outside bar. All the cool ones are either indoor only or outdoor and $300 each. Is it possible to fix up the wiring/bulb receptacle so I can use an indoor light outdoors? How? Will be low voltage lighting-mood lighting if you will, no 100 watt bulbs getting wired up
High Key lighting, and a wooded outdoor location....? As far as I can remember at this time, all high key lighted shots that I have seen, have been on lite/white backgrounds. Is there a way to do the effect in a forest location, with all the regular trees and boulders that would be found in a forest. I havent actually tried it yet, the high key effect, yet. In camera stuff??? Just kinda curious. For now.
