Bathroom Cabinets Questions
Replacing master bathroom cabinets? We need to rip out and replace our master bathroom cabinets (dual sink). They are water damaged and have no drawers. We don't want anything fancy, just simple cabinets with drawers, under sink storage and a simple countertop. The space isn't that large, 21 1/8 deep and 37 5/8 long. Approximately how much would this cost? Is Home Depot a good place to go to buy the cabinets and have them installed? I don't want to get ripped off but this is our first attempt at remodeling so we are a bit clueless. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
painting bathroom cabinets? I recently painted my Bathroom cabinets, I started with sanding then applied and oil based primer and then topcoated with latex paint. I would like to apply a clear coat sealer, to protect the final product. Any suggestions on what is the best product. I would like the final finish to be satin.
Restaining bathroom cabinets? I have solid wood whitewash stain bathroom cabinets. I want to restain them a darker finish. What steps do I need to undertake to remove the old finish and ensure the new finish looks good? Appreciate the anticipated advice!
Do you go through peoples bathroom cabinets when you visit? If so, why?? I hosted a BBQ yesterday and I noticed a few people pulled my shower curtain back (humm?) and I heard my bathroom cabinets being opened. I had toliet paper and a hand towels insight. WTH! Am I the only one that thinks this is a little strange and invasive? Why do people so this?? NO my ear wasn't up to the door--ewww....lol! My cabinets make a noise when you open them as does my shower curtain from the metel holders.
Chewing on Bathroom Cabinets? I have a 11 week old puppy who presently is in a kennel 7 hours a day while I work. Her kennel houses her litter box, bed, chew toys, and a hanging bottle of water. I'd like to graduate her to the downstairs bathroom, but my husband is worried she might gnaw on the cabinetry of our new home. Do they do that? TIA The kitchen wouldn't work. It has 3 large doorways and gates don't cover them. (LR and kitch. separated by see-thru fireplace and then another opening at hall.
Do those child safety locks work on bathroom medicine cabinets? I see that they have them at Wally world and wanted to know if anyone has tried them on anything besides cabinet doors and drawers in kitchens. I would like to use them on my bathroom medicine cabinet to lock medicines and other things my 2 year old can reach now. Any advice is appreciated.
How best to repaint bathroom cabinets that have high gloss finish? My vanities have a white high gloss finish which I'm sure came from the factory where they were built. They have lots of chips all over them now and need to be repainted. Hoping this is not a big deal project. Don't really have the time right now, but it has to be done. Thanks.
Bathroom remodeling... wallpaper and cabinets? I'm taking down the wallpaper in my bathroom but it goes behind a huge mirror glued to the wall. Is there anyway to get the mirror down or should I not worry about whats behind it? Also, the cabinets are grey fermica (late 80s style)... is there anyway to remove the fermica (easily) or should I just replace the cabinets entirely? ANY extra ideas or thoughts are entirely welcome! I'm a newbie at doing this! will the mirror break though if i pull it off the wall? and how do i get it off the wall if possible?
Why does my dog hide in the bathroom and in cabinets and my closet? He's a pomeranian, and he just got his haircut real short because he has hives on his legs and bum. Why would that make him want to be alone? He's just been acting weird ever since we got him back from the vet/doctor. We live in florida, so I don't think he's cold. And that's also why we shaved him. He's also been shaved before, and this is the first time he's acted this way.

I am remodeling a bathroom. How do I antique cabinets after painting white? I have sanded cabinets that were stained dark brown and varnished to prep them for painting. I planned to paint them white but would lile to give them a more interesting look by adding some antiquing with glaze or stain. Does anyone know how to do this? Or where I can find information on how to do this? Appreciate any ideas!
Bathroom sink drain was leaking, is there water between my cabinet and floor? My bathroom is on my main floor and we noticed the drain was leaking because water was dripping from the ceiling onto the basement bathroom floor. We have a bucket catching the water for now until we can figure out how to fix the drain. The water was falling where the water pipes go from the main floor into the basement ceiling. Do you think there is a bunch of water between my main bathroom cabinet and the floor? Should I try to pull up the wood inside the cabinet to look? Or should I just let it dry on its own? The basement ceiling doesn't have drywall up. The only layer is the bottom of the cabinet, a few inch gap, then the bathroom subfloor. I think we caught the leak fairly quickly. Like within a day we noticed the leaking drain. Probably a litre of water at the most went down the drain.
How to cover up bathroom cabinet mirror with damaged edges? I have a 3 block bathroom cabinet mirror, very much like this one, in its basic design. http://www.livinghouse.co.uk/acatalog/bathroom-cabinet-triplehsk.jpg The edges of the mirror has peeled paint (from behind), and looks really bad. The rest of the mirror is in good shape. I can’t replace the mirrors or remove them and fix the lost paint. Is there any other way to cover up the edges? I was thinking about putting duct tape around the edges. . . is that too tacky? Help me out here. Thanks.
Solution for very rusty bathroom cabinet? I'm renting so I don't want to pay for a new bathroom cabinet to replace the old rusty one that the owner won't replace. What can I paint over the top of the bad rust (it's rusted really bad in parts) to make it look and feel cleaner and last longer?

How do you get that caulking smell out of a bathroom cabinet? I guess the workers put in that caulking that smells like vinegar (the acidic type) and since the bathroom sink cabinet has its doors closed most of the time, the smell just gets trapped in there. Is there a way to get rid of that smell once the caulking is in place? I have read that you should use the type that does not smell, but it is too late for that now, since I did not do the work.
Why is his bathroom cabinet full of girl stuff?? I have been seeing a guy for a couple of months now and even though we have not discussed being exclusive, I do not think he is seeing anyone else. He lives by himself. I was at his house recently and decided to use one of his bathrooms. The toilet paper roll was empty so I opened the cabinet to see if there was anymore.
