Home loans? I am looking to improve my home with a home improvement loan. Does anyone know the best place to get help? Now this is not to refinance my home. It is only for improvements to bring up the value of my property. I need it based on credit and income. Not wishing to give away a kidney just for a bathroom. I need help because I think I can right now afford maybe a Johnny on the spot.... Help is needed. The bank and a certain home loan place want to charge interest way to high. The company that sold me the house says that the house is not valuable enough for them to give me money to fix it up. Great they were willing to make me pay for it though. (giggling) The money pit I live in needs some help... If you can think of a way that I can get the funds let me know. Oh yeah I have no equity in this pit. So there you have it...Can you help???
Where should I look for a home improvement loan? We are looking for a home improvement loan to start a couple of projects on our new home. The loan amount should be something around $15,000 to $20,000 with a low APR. Any suggestions on where to look? We're in Indiana.
Can I get a home improvement loan ....? I am buying a house and its in my name and the financing company holds the lien on the house. It needs quite alot of work and needs an add-on or two. Can I get a home improvement loan still? Thank you all for any help and/or advice!
what are some of the details of a mortgage with a home home improvement loan? Im looking to buy a house that needs a good amount of work. I dont have extra money to pay for the remodeling. But I have read that i can possibly get some sort of home improvement mortgage that will give me extra money to fix up the house. Rather than buying the house and then having to get a reappraisal and then a home equity loan.
My MIL got a home improvement loan from a credit union...? but now they want her 2 kids and spouses (me included)signatures since they are benificiaries to the house. Will they check our credit? Will my wife and I be responsible for this loan as well as her son and his wife? Is this considered co-signing?
What is the best and easiest way to apply for a home improvement loan? My husband, his dad, and I, all live in a house that was built in the 20's. Problem is, my husband doesn't want to move to a different house because God only knows why. So, instead of moving, we have talked about fixing this old house up. It's made out of logs and sheet rock. We have no carpeting, and all the beams and whatnot underneath the house need to be fixed. Is there any way I could get a loan to fix all the broken junk in this place? Serious answers only, please. Oh yeah. We have no morgatge payments either. But, the thing is, his grandpa passed away in 2002 and there was no will left. Someone said something about putting the deed up to get a loan from the government? Oh yeah. We have no mortgage payments either. But, the thing is, his grandpa passed away in 2002 and there was no will left. Someone said something about putting the deed up to get a loan from the government?
Which is a better purchase? A home that needs a lot of work for $90k or a home ready to be moved into at 150k? I'm in the process of purchasing a new home. The home I'm currently in the process of buying I can get for $90k, but there's a ton of mold in the finished basement, it needs a new roof, and a hole on the side of the house (it's in the attic, so you wouldn't know it was there unless you were inside the home. Yesterday, I saw a home for $150k, that has been updated and certified by the city in good condition. I already have been preapproved for a home loan at 125k, but that's b/c I elected to include my wife on the application (who makes more than me and her credit is just as good). One more thing, the 90k home has a 3 car garage and is on a bigger lot (not much bigger). It has the potential to be the better home, but is it a good idea to get a home improvement loan right out of the box?
Has anyone personally received a home improvement grant for their home? This question is only for grants writers that deal with home improvement grants or people who have personally received a home improvement grant (not a loan) for their home. I need to fix up my house and I cannot afford a loan and I need to know how I can get a grant. I know there are grants and grant writers out their who are legit. I need help to get pointed in the right direction! Please help.
Question to those who are experts on home loans? I co-own a home with a family member. It is owned free and clear, no debt is on it. We are considering consolidating all of our outstanding debt and doing home improvements on the property. What is the best option from a mortgage lender? Variable? Fixed? I have an appointment with a lender coming up soon and would like to be prepared. I have done some research but would like advice from someone in the field. Thank you very much.
Mortgage Professionals ! Can You Use a HELOC to Make a Downpayment on Another Home? I asked a similar question earlier today and a couple people said it would be fraud. Looking around the web it is suggested on several websites as an option for home buying , but I can't post the links. We own our house valued at 70k. We have a small home improvement loan out now 15k. We want to buy a 125k house so we need 25k down. Our mortgage broker suggested a line of credit, we can buy the house we want.Move.Fix up the old house a little bit. Sell it.Then pay off the HELOC. What is fraudulant ? I want the HELOC specifically to buy another house. My broker said it would be cheaper interest than a 80/20 or 100% financing or even a bridge loan.(I should mention that he is a friend of the family and not likely to steer me into something illegal knowingly.) Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Can I refinance a home that has a lean on it? I inherited an old lake house that is in bad need of repair. It is small and it would probably only need maybe 10,000 worth of money to put it in good order. The problem is that it has a lean on it. Is there a lender out there that would give me a home improvement loan? I don't have a dime to put into it myself but if I don't do something with it pretty quick it is liable to be condemned and I don't want that to happen. Anyone know what I could do?

i went to US BANK to apply for a HELP loan for 10,000 to repair my home and bring it up to code? HELP allows homeowners in most Cuyahoga County communities to borrow money for repairing or remodeling homes at three percentage points below a bank’s market rate for home improvement loans. the loan person at US BANK then called a couple days later and told me HELP turned down my loan but she could have someone from the bank call me and offer me a different proposal. He did call and told me that he could give me 15,000 for 7.99% I told him i did not want that much money yet told me i had to take out that much. Why would US BANK not give me 10,000 yet approve and encourage me to take out a BIGGER LOAN? Smells fishy. Also they stated HELP turned me down when in fact it was the US BANK itself. This makes me question if they wanted me to feel as if there was no other alternative then to go with their offer of what i feel is a subprime loan. They stated i did'nt qualify for the HELP loan because of my credit (in their words i was "50 points or so off")..i am confused it sounds very shifty my problem with it was this...they stated that the HELP people turned me down when in all actually it was USBANK or their underwriter that turned me down ...leading me to believe that i had no other choice then to go with USBANK's higher rates when i could have just went to another bank that offers that loan and tried there. like a bait and switch tatic
Can Chase home finance take my home? For a long time I had superior credit but due to severe health problems I fell behind and could no longer afford to keep up with my payments, I sent what I could consistently. However, I just recently had an award issued against me in favor of Chase credit card company. I know that Texas law states that Unsecured creditors cannot force me to sell my home for unsecured credit card debt the exception being home equity loans, contractor liens or loans for home improvement. My problem is that I also had a credit card with chase. (never used it for anything concerning my house )Could they find some loophole and force me to sell my home since my credit card was with them and they are my mortgage company? Anyone been in a similar situation? By the way the award(judgment) is for the credit card only not my house.
bankruptcy (to keep home) or hang tough? My ex skipped Texas to somewhere up north last month; no more child support and he was already behind on that. The AG is looking for him. Anyhow--this has left me to survive on my f/t slary alone, just enough to pay the basic nessities: home, Home improvement loan we lad gotten together which HAS to be paid or they'll take the house; 2001 car and car ins. This leaves me about $99 for utilities, gas, food, and medicine for a family of 4. My credit was shot to hell because he also left me with all the cc bills. So I am always turned down for refinancing/loans. Since my credit is already shot to hell, is it better to just wait things out until I get another better job with pay (i work shiftwork as it is) and I AM looking; or should I get a legal aid attny to help with bankruptcy so I keep my home? It it a modest hom, worth 67,000, but the Home Impro loan kicks up the cost big time. I owe $33,000 on my home and $35,000 on that loan! P/T jobs do not accept my avail hrs and only pay $7. hr- I have spoken to Consumer Credit and they advised me to file bankruptcy and keep the house, as I checked into renting and here it is more $ than buying a house; or to hang tough and pay the essentials, which is what I have been doing. Either way, I will have bad credit for the next 4-7 yrs. I was just wondering if filing and keeping my home would be better for my credit than bad credit in pieces and parts. thank all of you for your input; in the meantime still looking for a p/t job. I tried a bunch of places for loans but even the PAyday loans and the LAON SHARKS turned me down! God will provide.
HELOC ,Home equity loan, or Nothing? I have to refinance my ARM in one year(not for cash back but to lock in at a fixed rate) Should I wait until after I do that to get a loan(for home improvements and vehicle)? My mortgage guy says "no" That I could get the loan now and it would just get tied in with my new mort. But I was wanting to get a loan and have it paid off in 10 yrs. If I have to tie it into my mort. I will be paying it off for 30 yrs!! He said its the same either way. and said something about "sumantics"??? what would be my best bet? do it now or wait.
What home loan interest rate can I expect? Currently my FICO is 630, I have history of a bankruptcy 6 years ago, I make 80k a year, my only current debt is a 6k auto loan, oh and those dreaded 21k in student loans. I'm in California and 4 years ago I really wanted to purchase a home before the prices got to out of control but no bank would touch me despite a good career and down payment so my parents who had their home paid off got the loan for me and I've been paying the mortgage. Now 4 years later I'm ready to be an adult and do the right thing and get my home loan in my name even if it means a higher interest rate then the current 4.5%. With the equity I've established (my home is worth 380k and I owe 180k but thinking about borrowing 200k to pay the auto loan and do some home improvements) is it possible for me to get a decent interest rate with my train wreak credit history? Any insight would be appreciated, Kelly
we are trying to get a house and have been aproved for 70 000 mordgage loan. is there a type...? of loan that we can get in addition to the home loan for 25 000 so we have money to "fix" it up (put new carpet, have it painted (inside and out) buy apliances for it, and make it more energy efficient...) and such... i dont know if a home improvement loan would work since we want to put apliances in it and some of the stuff we would get would be like curtains and yard stuff like gardening suplies and a lawn mower.....) would prefer to be able to keep it at a max 250 a month....( i know a home equity loan for 25000 would run us 140 a month without interest, but we dont have equity yet since we havent purchased the house yet........ what types of loans could we get and about how much would the payments be.....(and loan length... the loan type is a my comunity type loan so we dont pay closing and its 100 percent financed...so no down payment... and we cant save and do a little by a little because what are we suposed to put our food in? what do we cook on? ... we have a family with 2 little girls, we cant be "moving" out every few years or months or whatever for a month so we can get new carpet, or new paint, or ...whatever... i dont want advice on what i should do i want advice on if there is a way to get a loan for 25000 (yes we have already estimated it...it will be a little over 20000...)
