Home Security Systems Questions
How Safe Are Wireless Home Security Systems? Are wireless home security systems safe? Info from the Brickhouse Security say "Wireless Home Security Systems are fully wireless and have built-in power supplies; even if the phone, power and Internet connections are down, your Wireless Home Security System will continue to monitor and protect your property. This feature will come in handy if an intruder cuts the power and phone lines, or there is a blackout and burglars are on the prowl." Does this mean that the system has its own cell-phone built-in or uses a satellite so it could notify the PD and if so doesn't a burglar need nothing but a signal disrupter? No I'm not a burglar, just curious in how it works and how safe it really is. We all know if you have an alarm set to the phone-line someone can cut the lines, if you have digital phone someone can just turn the power off your house, or do both. So can a disrupter knock out the system signals? The real question is, "How safe are any Home Security Systems?"
Know of any good home security systems? I need some advice about home security systems? I want to buy one that turns on the lights and makes a loud reaction and calls the police when an intruder breaks in. My partner found one that charges you $19.00 a month to call the police. I know that there has to be one that calls them for free. If you know of any please provide links. Thanks
Home security systems - basics? What should I look for in a home security system, and how much should a good one cost? I'm considering ADT right now, but just because it's the biggest name and I'm clueless on this topic. Thanks!
Do you know anything about home security systems? We are thinking about getting one for our house. I called ADT and they charge $630 for the installation alone! Protection One, on the other hand, only charges about $150. What's the difference? Is the security system worth the money? Is it a hassle? Etc?
Home Security Systems? What are the best ones.......and what are the rates. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. ~Adam

Hello, anyone out there who could give me advice on selling home security systems? I work for an authorized ADT dealership as a sales representative. I do this as it is flexible and I have lupus and a son with autism and had to leave my career in corporate sales. Does anyone have any ideas for me to help build my business and get customers interested? What type of marketing might help me. I can only sell in my local area which is about a 45 minute radius of Memphis. I offer a good product, I have the best price for ADT equipment and offer their monitoring. I am also very customer service oriented and bend over backwards to help my customer even after the sale. I just need ideas to increase my business. Door to door knocking has not been successful. I am currently working with flyers also but have not had much results with that. Also, I have even been telemarketing. I am more than willing to accept suggestions from anyone. I really want to make a decent living for my family and my son as its expensive having an autistic child and my own medical bills. I Oro, I know you are kidding but there are actually some shady security dealers that have done things like that to cause scare tactics in communities. Its sad but true.
DSC Home Security System? My boss just moved into a home with a DSC Security System. He wants me to find out how to activate it, etc. I don't know anything about home security systems. Does he need to open an account with a security company? How do DSC systems work. I suppose it may depend on the model. Thanks. Any info is appreciated.
Could a home security system interfere with my home theater system? I recently installed a wireless home security systems (ADT), and now I am noticing a clicking emanating from my home theater system. I am wondering if it is caused by the new security, and if so, how can I fix it? A bit of detail on the clicking: it is similar to, but not the same as, the phone interference caused by certain (GSM) phones.
Anyone ever purchased their own home security system (burglar alarms, etc)? It is SO expensive to purchase equipment and then pay a company to monitor your home every month. I've seen some items on EBAY that may work, and there were some other websites selling electronic home security systems, but I had never heard of them before and have no idea whether they are legit. If you have your own system, would you please let me know where you bought it, how much you paid for it, and whether you are pleased with it or not? Thanks!
What is the best security system for your home? I was recently mugged and am worried the attackers will come to my home because I fought back since they have my id among other things. What are the rates for home security systems and which is the best???
Is it possible to purchase a home security system and not pay a monthly fee, and where can I purchase one? I just bought a new house that is pre-wired for a home security system. I would like to have one installed but don't want to pay a monthly fee. Basically I just want a system that will start an alarm if someone were to break in. I don't need a company to monitor it. I also don't want a wireless system. I have looked all over the internet and all the systems have a monthly monitoring fee. And if they don't have a monthly fee they are wireless.
Could you recommend a home security system? I have been looking at ADT, Alarm Force, and Magen for Toronto. I want the two way voice monitoring as well as smoke detector monitoring. Alarm Force seems to be the best choice. Does someone have a bad/good experience to share about any of these home security systems?
Home security system?? What are the Pro's and Con's to owning a home security system? And whats the differents between putting a sticker on your door that says you have security system, then actually owning one? Full Details please.
Home security system-Simply the Best!!!LOL!!!!? HOW TO INSTALL A HOME SECURITY SYSTEM 1. Go to a second-hand store and buy a pair of men's used size 14-16 Work boots. 2. Place them on your front porch, along with several empty beer cans, a copy of Guns & Ammo magazine and several NRA magazines. 3. Put a few giant dog dishes next to the boots and magazine. 4. Leave a note on your door that reads: Hey Bubba, Big Jim, Duke and Slim, I went to the gun shop for more ammunition. Back in an hour. Don't mess with the pit bulls -- they attacked the mailman this morning and messed him up real bad. I don't think Killer took part in it, but it was hard to tell from all the blood. PS - I locked all four of 'em in the house. Better wait outside.
Home Security System? Where is a good place to get a home security system, I just want to order the parts and I will install it all myself. I need state of the art, price is no matter, and I would prefer it to be compatible in the UK, so 220 V is needed.
Home security system - recommendations? I'm in the market for a home security system - I've been looking at ADT, Brinks, Monitronics - only guideline here is that it has to be wireless. Are there other options out there? Is there something I could setup myself and not pay a monthly monitoring fee?

Do you have a home security system? I do. You know what it is? My little dog. My chihuahua dogs. She sleeps in the living room with me. And every time someone even barely makes the slightest sound at the door or anywhere in sight, she barks like crazy. Us mexicans don't need to buy a home security system. Our dogs is our security system :) joef, that was uncalled for..
Can I use my home security system without a contract? I have a new house that has a home security system installed, with motion detectors, an alarm, a keypad, etc. How can I activate it and use it without having to pay a security service to moniter it? This is a new house, they haven't given me a code for the keypad, and pushing buttons doesn't seem to do anything. The keypad does tell me if any doors or windows are open or if the motion sensor detects anything...I just want to be able to set it to go off if there is an intruder.
Digital Phone, Cable and our home security system going off when cable goes out? Need a fix for that.? We recently had digital phone hooked up. We had cable for the computer and tv for years. I heard great things about digital phone, which, eh, it's ok. Clarity is not so great, even with a 5.8MH phone which is brand new. That's not my problem though. We have a security system for our home, and that was installed 12yrs ago and is hooked up to the telephone line. Apparently when cable goes out for just a second, our alarm sounds. It happened last night at 2am. One box (alarm system) is located in my son's closet which is locked and I do not have a key. I would assume that is where the hook up is for the telephone cable. Second box is in my other son's room, which is the electrical supply. The company that installed the system is no longer in business. My question is: How do I get into the metal 20" X 15" box to disconnect the telephone line and which line is it , and how to do this without interupting the normal functions of alarm. It is not monitored.
How do you stop an inactive DSC home security system from beeping randomly? I bought a house about 2 years ago with a DSC home security system installed by the provious owner. I have never activated the service. When I first moved in, the system keypad would randomly beep 2x until someone pressed any keys on the pad. It stopped for a while and has started beeping randomly again, but more frequently. It seems to go off a few times throughout the day, not at any regular intervals, but annoying enough to want to rip it out of the wall (which may be my next step). Again, pressing some of the keys seems to satisfy it for a short time. There are no manuals or instructions for the system and nothing on the pad to provide any advice.

Napco gemini home security system gem-rp1cae2 how do you make the beeping noise go off when u open the doors with a sensor on it. is there something i can put on the sensor that i can open the door and the beeping noise dosent go off please help me
Can anyone recommend a No Contracts home security system? I am looking for a no contracts apartment home security system. Theres only one entrance to our apartment as we're on level 2, so the door is the one place that needs covering; I'm looking for something that will make a LOUD noise when the door is opened after I have set the alarm to 'on'. This may take the form of a laser beam or something similar? I do have a cat - if she is likely to set it off at night, its not a problem to keep her away in the bathroom, but pls can you state whether the cat would/wouldn't set the alarm off. Thanks!!!
How do I set the code on my home security system? I purchased a home that has a security system installed. It has motion sensors in some rooms, and door sensors on every exterior door. I know it is functional as I see it respond to the various sensors, but do not know the code to arm it. The previous owner's disconnected the service to the company that calls the police and forgot the code. I just want to use it as a passive system that sounds the alarm when breached, but cannot arm it without the code. Any guesses on how i can set it? The manufacturer of the alarm is no longer in business, but is Apollo Security.
