home remodeling??? I want to open the wall between my dining room and kitchen and both rooms are 10x10 with a 36"x82" door way. I want to know what type of saw should I use and and the proper steps to remove the wall. if you choose to get into more detail feel free to email me. Thanx to all I dont believe its a load bearing wall. There is nothing above these rooms. Also the ceilings are vaulted 9'10" at the high point.
home remodeling? I want to do my floors. I'm putting on vinyl tiles the ones with that you just stick to the floor on to my existing floors the problem is in some area there is no existing floor and just a hole floor not being even how do i fix this problem before i start sticking my tiles.

How can I get home remodeling assistance? We had gutted the interior and were in the middle of remodeling for us and my son, when he had a tragic fatal car repair accident. We purchased supplies but I can't afford to pay skilled laborers. Because we gutted it, it is worth less than we paid for it, so getting a home equity loan is impossible!!! My son and I would love to be able to live in the home we were building together :(

Where can I find the best FREE instruction about Home Remodeling and preparing estimates for bids? I need to learn ASAP everything I can about Home Remodeling and Improvements. Especially Sunrooms, construction, design, how to build, prepare estimates. Also need a EASY BEGINNER FREE package to use on computer, like Four Seasons Sunrooms give their sales reps. Can go out and take a digital picture, then somehow transfer it to your computer, the home comes up and you can design the sunroom right there to see what the home will look like with a sunroom on it.

Home remodeling question--adding a wall to enclose a dining room? I am extending a wall to enclose a dining room to a den. I read on a home improvement website that tile flooring underneath the extension would have to be removed. Does anyone know if only the necessary portion of tile can be removed without having to redo the entire floor? If so, what is the best way to do it? Thanks.
Home remodeling questions - door, retaining wall, new circuit breakers, regrouting? This is regarding a house in Pittsburgh, PA. I just bought my first house and i'm kinda clueless about these things. 1. I need to install a fire-rated door or a solid-core door between the garage and basement. Right now there's a screen door only. I'd need to get a lockset installed. How much will labor and materials be? Is it cheaper to go with Lowes or Home Depot rather than local contractors? 2. The retaining wall is bulging and needs to be fixed. How much would this cost? I was told that the same stones could be reused to rebuild the wall. 3. The house is old and has fuse boxes. I need to get a new circuit breaker panel. Cost? Also have to change the old outlets to grounded ones. 4. I need to regrout the tiles by the tub in the bathroom and recaulk it. The tiles themselves are ok, just need to refinish. I've heard that this shouldn't be too expensive. Does anyone know any reliable contractors? I'm in the South Hills part of town.

resources for low cost home remodeling? I own a two family home in which I live in. I need home repair and paying the bills and the mortgage is a challenge. I tried to use my upper home unit as a rental as another source of income, but the tenants either never paid all of their share of the rent or never paid at all. I am a home remodeling contractor in Ohio. I am trying to start my buisness up in louisiana and need workers c I am a general contractor in ohio,fully licensed and insured. I am trying to get my Home remodelers license in Louisiana and one thing they require is Workers comp. I sub all my work out to Licensed contractors in their specific filed so I have no w2 payroll per say to speak of. Can anyone tell me of a louisiana insurance company that may underwrite me for workers comp in this situation being that I am from out of state. Note that I am incorporated and also incorporating and registering my company in louisiana.
Any opinions on Custom Home & Remodeling Center in Westfield, MA? I'm looking to vinyl side my house myself and having problems finding siding.All the places I call only sell to contractors. Order of Home Remodeling Projects? Ok, should I replace my drywall before or after the new carpets go in?? Does it matter when the windows get replaced, or would it be better to have the new drywall up first with thicker insulation??
