Cabinet Knobs Questions
Where can I sell cabinet knobs and pulls? I've got hundreds of metal cabinet knobs and pulls, I've identified the exact products and they tend to sell for $2 at the cheapest and the MSRP is $3.49 apiece. They're opened and they have the screws. I'm wondering where I can sell them (at least $1.50 apiece.) Don't say eBay because the weight of the knobs will make the shipping cost just about as much as the knobs. I've searched online but found nothing. I'm thinking that Home Depot, Lowes, or maybe even a pawn shop may buy them but I'm not sure about how much they would pay.
what can I do to change antique brass cabinet knobs to look like the newest styles of the black/brown rodiron? I have a large amount of cabinets in my kitchen and would like to change my handles without having to buy all new knobs. I would like to do something to change the look to a more now style black/brown rod-iron wthout ruining the knobs (which were fairly expensive and were just purchased about 2yrs ago. I am adding the black asian woods throughout my kitchen/dining area and would like to change these to go with my black granite and corian countertops...need to modernize the 17 yr old oak cabinets with some new bling!
Spectral Germany Cabinet door knobs? Can anyone tell me who supplies cabinet door knobs for the Move or Closed range to Spectral. I am looking for similar knobs but they won't supply me directly. Please Help!
Where can I find cheap cabinet knobs? We need about 30 of them for our kitchen cabinets, and they're so expensive at Walmart and Home Depot! Unpainted/unfinished wood would even be fine. I found some for set of 4 for just $1.30 from a seller on the Amazon Marketplace, but then found out it would be $8.00 to ship each set!! Any suggestions?
Where to place cabinet knob? I'm refinishing an old cabinet/sideboard/? that I got for free from an old neighbor. I don't know exactly what it is, but it's low, like a sideboard, with three doors. When I got it, there were no knobs, but there is a hole in each door. The problem is, the holes are RIGHT in the center of the doors! Is there any reason for this? Would this be an OK place to put the knobs? Or would it be better to drill new holes on the side, and if I did that, what would I do about the old holes? I know there were a lot of questions there - any help or info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. Just a note - as described, these are DOORS, not DRAWERS, which is why the center hole is unusual. I have yet to see a cabinet door with a center knob, because it actually makes it more difficult to open.
Is there a design rule on using knobs vs. pulls on cabinets? Doing a full kitchen remodel with all new cabinets. Having a difficult time choosing the hardware. When should you use the round knobs and when should you use the longer handle type drawer pulls on kitchen cabinets? Should they always be combined together in the kitchen?

What is the rule about cabinet hardware on drawers vs. doors? I have a really nice custom built hardwood cabinets in my kitchen and want to add hardware to them. I am not sure what to use though. Is there as standard as far as what to use on the drawers and what to use on the cabinet doors? Do I use knobs on both? Do I use knobs on the doors and pulls (handles) on the drawers? or Do I use knobs on the drawers and handles on the doors? I am so confused.

Where can I buy something decorative to fill the hole left by old cabinet door pulls? My kitchen cabinet doors have the knob right in the middle. They are very awkward to use so we just never use them. I would like to replace them with something decorative as opposed to leaving a hole there. I don't know where to buy such an item. (Not interested in wooden plugs - I was thinking something very noticable to coordinate with my kitchen).
How do I replace hinges on cabinet doors? So, I have this built in hutch/cabinet in my dining room, it's original to the house that was built in the 50s. I painted it white, and want to replace the hardware on it, to make it look fresh and updated. I'm fine with replacing the knobs and pulls on the drawers, but how do I know what kind of hinges I need? Do I just take the old hinges into Home Depot and hope that a worker there can figure out what size I need? Or is there a way of measuring to determine which replacement hinges are going to work? The hutch as two glass doors on it, each door has two panes of glass, and there are hinges inbetween the two panes of glass, then there are hinges that attach the doors to the side of the hutch, so they fold open like an accordian, kind of... long kitchen cabinet handles? I have (square ) raised kitchen cabinet doors, I want to add some long stainless steel handles to it, but have never seen this done anywhere on a tradition style kitchen caninets instead they usually just have a knob. Anyone else seen this done before, i do you think it will look good? in the below link is an idea of what it looks like in style but not color. How to refinish black high gloss bookcase? I would like to refinish a black high gloss bookcase with gold trim. The gold trim, I think is glued to the top edge. Does anyone know how to get the trim off?? Does anyone have any helpful suggestions as to how I can stain this mahogany and where to buy new cabinet knobs and drawer pulls? Thanks so much
Science Fair Help LEYDEN JAR? Hello All, My Daughter's 8th Grade Science Fair is approaching fast and WE NEED HELP. We Built a Leyden Jar using a 5 Gallon Bucket Covered outside with aluminum foil, filled with salt water, with a large "Heineken Keg" beer can (4" diameter) as the center electrode, and a 2" oval brass cabinet knob soldered to soft 1/4 inch copper pipe as the electrode connecting to the outside. A piece of copper pipe inserted into the center electrode is immersed in the salt water. Spark Gap spacing is about 1/4" We have kept everything as smooth as possible to reduce bleed-off points. We tried charging it by using 3 foot lengths of pvc pipe rubbed with wool socks, to no avail. When we charged it using a piece of aluminum foil taped to our 25" TV, we initially got a couple juicy sparks, but then nothing. If anything jumps out that we are doing wrong, I would appreciate input. Also any ideas about building a better static generator?? Can I use my X-wifes Barry Manalow records or should I save them for the skeet range? The Science fair is on the 30th....HELP!!! Signed Mike AKA Dad

Kitchen Fire Questions....? I am from Ky, We had a kitchen fire in Nov. we was cooking but our pan was not on fire until we tossed water on the stove then it like blew up and my pan did catch then it got pretty intense and seconds seemed like minutes. we figured we would never get it under controll as long as the pan was on fire so my husband grabbed it and through it outside. "Got burned bad" any ways since we lived in there the stove didnt work had problems it just got fixed, the fire burned 4 cabinets the knobs in the middle of the stove was burned as well, hubby couldnt work due to burn we couldnt pay the rent until middle of Dec L/L wouldnt wait told us to leave so we did. now I am being Sued by Ins Company they gave him a whole new kitchen.. said it was Grease fire. even tho it was Electical how can I go about Proving my case? I dont know what to do I have more information but not enough room to type everything.. please anyone help me...what do I do?
childproffing not working help!!!!? I have child proffed my house to all extent that I can I bought oulet covers door knob covers cabinet safety lock bungee corded the fidge closed and took all the knobs off the stove, but they're still getting into everything I am afraid to go to sleep. they get into the books and movies (Icant move them anywhere else I have simply run out of room in my bedroom tryig to hide stuff from them) they get into the dishes by moving the kitchen chairs to the counter and climbing on top of the counters they also turned the oven on this way. I tried pinning all the chairs against the wall behind the table but my son just pushes the table across the room. I am afraid to sleep afraid they will kill them selves babygates dont work he just pushes until it falls down I have no more room to move anything else where and besides my bedroom my house is almost empty as it is. cause I moved next to everything to my room. they just wont listen I can talk I can yell I can spank I can time out and No change I cant move anything more or we are gonna be living outside seriously I have moved everything I can but I cant move the kitchen table and thats my biggest issue without that he couldnt get on the counters. chemicals and such dangerous stuff is out of reach and locked away all cupboards are locked they aree 16m and 28m and refuse to listen to me at all. As a single mom I am at my wits end. in sleeping I mean at night yesterday morning I woke at 5 am because my son was on the stove with the oven on and my daughter was doing dishes I am not like sleeping all day or anything this is things they are doing when I am asleep at night for example the 5am wake up call, the other times its when I go to the bathroom THEY ARE QUICK!!! There is only 1 of me and 2 of them and they take full advantage of this
OK, so you all tell me NOT TO SPANK but instead take away toys and time out? Besides the fact that I am spending half of my day putting him intime out while my daughter is crying for a bottle or in the MIDDLE of drinking a bottle, diaper change, whatever, I've taken away most of his toys and now he's bored and all he does is terrorize us. YES, I play with him a 3/4 hours a day BUT when I am cooking or doing laundry (yes I have to do those things so we can eat and have clothes to wear, don't tell me to play with him all day) he's jumping on his sister or just bugging her for fun. Then when I tell him no TV, Oh forget about it, he is tearing up the house BIG TIME. Torturing his siter while breaking things, loosening door knobs on cabinets, spilling my water everywhere, etc. My big question is, when you've taken away ALL of his toys and privelages, what the heck do you do with a 3 yr old!? How are they supposed to get through the day with out terrorizing everyone. YES I PLAY WITH HIM and color with him and play play doh with him (if I haven't taken the YES, I involve him in house work, but he doesn't want to help me cook and clean all the time or the other 8 hours of the day he is awake when I am NOT playing with him. YES, I play with him and spend time with him NO, he doesn't go to school (we can't afford it) YES, I set up playdates a day or two a week. Why should I not spank in ADDITION to taking SOME, not all, toys and privelages away? NO he doesn't eat processed food, I cook his meals. No he hardly has sugar. YES, I praise him 1000 times a day and encourage him. I knwo it sounds like he should be an angel and I don't appreciate being questioned about my honesty. Maybe this will help, he acts exactly like I did when I was his age and then people say he acts just liek my father did at his age also. Rambunctious behavior runs in our family as children. Not all kids are robots, just because you take toys away and give consequences doesn't mean they are not going to still be mischevious and daring. every child is an INDIVIDUAL, he is not a push over and he is not passive. He is a go getter and a doer, right now he is difficult but I know he will be successful when he is older BUT I have to make sure to guide him the right way, not let him run the roost.
Is there metal in the manufacturing of cabinets? I went to add hardware (knobs) to my kitchen cabinets. As I was drilling I hit metal. Do Cabinet makers use metal for the manufacturing process? How do I know where the metal is so I can drill around it?
How do I stop my Border Terrier from chewing my wooden furniture? She (Petal) is still less than 1 year old, and has chewed all the dining table and chair legs in the kitchen, which is where her bed is. She has completly chewed off the gallery rail from one of our kitchen display cabinets, the bottom knobs off a chest of drawers, and the edge of the carpet by her bed. The "anti-chew" spray we bought made no difference at all. I honestly don't think that she does this as much as she used to. Is it something that she'll eventually just grow out of?. She does have plenty of chewable toys to play with.
