I am remodeling my home and would like to use led lighting in as many places as possible but it seems like the only led lighting available at this time is just accent lighting.Does anyone know of a website that has LED lighting for the home as a main source? I know its expensive but do you know where i can get exact pricing? What kind of bulbs do power compact lighting use?
Interior lighting..neon or led? I am just wondering what lighting would be nice inside a car. Should i try neon lights or led lights? I want my car inside to be bright when i flick the switches. What lighting do you think I should use and how pricey will it become?
LED Car Lighting? I know you can get LED lights installed underneath your car but i just recently found out about the 10"-12" ones you can buy for the inside of your car. Does anyone have any ideas on places to put them inside your car? The car is a Red '95 Dodge Stealth.
I looking for a lighting bulb based on LED? Any idea about commercials solutions? My friend and I interested in various commercial products for home use as a replacement for regular light bulb, our preferred solution is that it should be based on LED technology. The perfect thing will be to find a light bulb that is in fact a LED light and can fit any location without any modification, just buy and install.
Question about LED lighting? I am wanting to hook up these LED lights however they always burn out because of the high voltage and amperage from the source. I have LEDs that run on approximately 3DCV max and are 0.03 amps max, my source is an intermittent 7ACV max (a.k.a. an on off DC current and yes it does work but not with the LEDs I want) So I want to know what resistors(possibly 100 ohms?) and other electrical components I need to use so that the LEDs I want to use will not burn out in a matter of 5 minutes or less.
Who thinks LED and Solar lights give quality lighting? I've been installing landscape lighting for almost 20 years and can't uderstand why people see value in LED & Solar lights. It's like the electric car - great in theory but proformance leaves alot to be desired. Fireflies in a jar, Fireflies in a jar.
Will LED lights supplant compact fluorescents in home lighting applications? In flashlights they make an incredible amount of light per battery, are very bright, and last about forever. Are they being adapted to use as household lighting? If so, when will they become widely available? Are they more efficient than and less polluting (mercury, manufacturing waste etc?) than CF's?
Anyone into LED lighting? I'm talking about lighting for the home, if so what power source do you use, solar power or normal household AC? also where is a site to find them at wholesale prices?
Auxiliary lighting law - LED red strobes? What is the law concerning after-market auxiliary lighting systems on vehicles in the UK? Having been told that my motorcycle appeared almost invisible from the rear when driving in fog and moderate spray, I have bought a pair of red LED ultrabright strobe strips (4.5 x 1 cm each). They flash in a similar way to the rear spray lights on F1 cars. I want to fit these either side of the rear light housing with an activation switch on the bars for driving in very poor visibility. Is this legal? Is it possible that I will get a fine for displaying such strobing lights? Thanks
Suggestions for additional motorcycle lighting, LED or non-LED? Will be riding cross country from east coast to Arizona and want to illuminate my bike more. It is a suzuki boulevard 650 (aka savage). Any info on legal issues also helpful. Thanks. I know it's going to be rough on the bike, that's the only bike I have. Thanks for the advice though. Any suggestions on brands or websites to find these products also appreciated. Thanks again for all the help.
Are Led lights as bright as fluorescent lights.? Answer: LED light is different from fluorescent. The light it emits acts more like particle light. Think of it as millions of teeny tiny BBs striking your countertops and giving back light that you can see (visible secondary radiation). They don't bounce around much after they strike, so there is very little glow (ambience) with LED. Fluorescent light is more like waves in your bathtub bouncing all over until they lose their energy. This creates a lot of glow (ambience). You can see the undersides of shelves better with fluorescent lighting. It is hard to beat fluorescent lighting for overall light per watt of electricity, but LEDs are the champions of point source light because they can be seen miles away. LEDs are chips (like computer chips). They can outlast almost any bulb. There are peaches and lemons in all products. Who knows how long a peach LED could last. OOOOH! I like that: No bulb replacement. Just add an additional light fixture. You can afford it with the savings.
LED light bulb replacement for chandeliers and wall sconces that currently use 20w incandescent bulbs? Many of the light fixtures in my house use the small Candelabra base bulbs. Although they use 20-25w per incandescent bulb, that adds up to 50w and 100w for several of the rooms (and chandeliers). ALL of these bulbs have small, individual lamp shades covering the bulbs. I've replaced most of the standard base incandescent bulbs with compact florescent bulbs to save on energy costs, and I want to do the same with these bulbs. I know there are compact florescent bulbs are available in this size, but I'm curious about venturing into LED bulb territory even if it costs extra in the short term. I'm most interested in long-term savings. Normally, LED bulbs are used for directional lighting, but with the lamp shades, is it possible to get a similar amount of light? If yes, where can I find these bulbs?
Does 120 VAC LED light bulb have a built in rectifier? LED light bulb works on forwar bias and off on reverse bias. Are we simply let the negative part of the AC current go wasted (as it can not light up the bulb) or we rectify it (the negative AC) to continue lighting up the bulb? If the negative part of the current is not use, will the LED light bulb flicker like the florescent light?
Ideas for making a Custom LED portable work light Help? Hello, I am trying to find the best way I can use LED lighting to make a custom portable work light. You have all seen the small shop lights that use 500 watt bubs. Well in my line of work , they don't last, they either burn out fast or else just the enviornment is hard on them and they are junk in no time. I want to make a custom light, I was thinking maybe LED's, How many LED blubs would it take to equal say the same amount of light that a 100 watt light blub will put out ?? I need a blub that is durable and LED are strong and can take abuse from what I have seen so far. Any Ideas , thanks To add to this, it has to be able to produce enough light to light up a room, not just a small light to look under the hood of a car. thanks
led lights off on car cd player? I have a pioneer single cd player in my car, i had to take it out to replace a switch, since putting it back in the led lights that light up the front panel have gone off. Every thing works as normal except for it lighting up the front panel, it did come on once but went off again. any good sparkys out there please.
Are there any LED lights that are color temperature specific? I'm into video production and NEED to use halogen lamps because of the color temperature - flourescent lights are "too greenish" and tungsten light bulbs tend to be "too yellowish", but halogens give nice skin tones because of their color temperature. However, halogen lamps use a LOT of electricity and give off a LOT of heat, so I was wondering if I could eventually replace them with LED lighting instead, which is much more energy efficient (lower electric bill and less heat). Thanks to all who answer. I'm just starting to get into digital video production, so I do not have a lot of gear yet. I don't have color meters or filters, and my camera right now is an Apple iSight webcam because the camera I want isn't available yet (high definition "prosumer" level gear) - and won't be until at least December. I have friends with decent cameras that are going to work with me using their cameras until I get my own. Some excellent answers here - thanks!
How do I install LED lights into my new car? I recently got a package deal on LED Neon lighting accessories for my 2001 Chrystler 300M. I dont have much running through the car, I've never had any power problems at all. My question... if I were to install everything that came in my package (White Underbody Neon, White Interior Under Dash Neon, New Blue Halogen Lights, and White Blinker Arrows that attach to the Side-View mirrors) do you think it would put a drain on my battery? I know lighting doesnt take too much to run, but is that pushing it a little too much?

Help changing LED light in optical mouse.? Hi, I recently bought an optical mouse of my favourite baseball team the Toronto Blue Jays and I'm looking to change the LED color of the mouse from Red to Blue to match the team. The mouse looks horrible when lighted Red since it is a see-through mouse and the team is the BLUE Jays. I bought 2 Blue LED lights from a RadioShack type store and I got a friend to solder and replace the Red LED lights with the Blue LED one I bought. However, it would not light up. When he put the Red LED light back, it would. What could be the issue here? Does anyone have any suggestions? He thinks it's the voltage, but if this is the case, where would I buy a Blue LED light suitable for a optical mouse? Thanks in advance!

LED Flash Light? I bought an LED flash light. It came with a red bulb for the night. I tried both on a pitchblack room, The night-bulb gave a red glow, but it was still a bit dark, when I used the LED bright light, it lit the whole room. Why would I use the dim night-bulb to see in the dark, when the LED lights 10 times brighter? What is the night-bulb used for? Thanks... Thanks for all your answers
Can LED Christmas lights be connected to dimming/flashing music box? For nearly 20 years, we have had a little electronic box ("Mr. Christmas Carolites") that plays various Christmas carols. It has an electrical outlet on it to which you can connect a few strings of Christmas lights, which then flash and fade in and out in rhythm with the music the box is playing. It has always been a part of our Christmas tree, and has always worked quite well. This year, we are changing over to LED lights on our Christmas tree. On one hand, we don't want to give up the music box that has made our tree a conversation starter for so many years, but on the other hand, we don't want to risk possibly damaging the new LED lights by subjecting them to the repeated rhythmic flashing and brightening/dimming the music box creates. So, I thought I would ask those who have more experience with LED Christmas lights...would they be damaged or otherwise adversely affected by connecting them to this music box, causing them to brighten and dim and flash hundreds of times per hour?
Can LED lights installed on a vehicle short out? I am looking to replace my incandescent brake lights on a trailer with LED lights. My incandescent lights burn out often. I'm afraid there is a short. Would a short damage the LED lights too?
Interior LED underseat light installation? I bought these interior LED lights http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=015&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=250048995411&rd=1,1 for my 2006 honda civic ex coupe and I have no idea how to install them. I looked under my dashboard and I do see a bunch of wires. I'm probably gonna connect my LED lights to one of those wires. Problem is that the LED wires have a red and black which are positive and negative I assume. How should I install these lights? Do I need a special tool to see which way the current in the wires in my car is moving? The wires under my car are multicolored so I dont know which one to use.
LED lights not working on a piaggio nrg power? i bought these LED lights from halfords and i fitted them into the front side lights of my ped, they fit fine as i brought the original bulbs into the shop, now less than a month there not fully working. if i take it out of the socket (with it still connected) and cup my hands around the led i can just see a blue tinge. but no way as bright as they were at first. the light is made out of 4 small LEDs, do you think maybe some have blown ( if they can) or if something else has damaged them? cheers
Why do LED lights look like they are flashing quickly??? I have this ongoing discussion with my spouse about LED lights. Each time we see a new Cadillac with those fancy LED tail lights she seems to think they are flashing so fast they appear to be on steadily. She says it seems like they are "vibrating" is the only way she can describe it. Anyone else think so? Anyone know anything about LED lights or how they work? Or is sleep-deprevation taking her over????
LED lights on a model car? I have seen these 1/18 inch scale police cars that people have taken LED lights and put on there to give the car functioning lights (see youtube video). I am wondering if anyone knows how to go about doing this, as I wanted to build a car for my department. I know where to get the car, but I need to know how to do the lights and set them up to have different strobe patterns and whatnot. I know one of the components needed is a micro controller, but I have no clue as to what I am looking for, nor how to program the lights to flash in a certain pattern. I guess I can research all that once I find out what a micro controller is Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks http://youtube.com/watch?v=wU3W4-69P7g (these are die cast 1/18 inch scale cars)
led lights fl;ash when the bass hits? i have a 750 watt amp and two 1800 watt max subs, and i bought a set of speakers with led lights built in, your supposed to wire them to the battery with a toggle switch but i think it would look better if every time the bass hits the leds flash, so anyway i was wondering if i could hook the leds up to my amp to make them flash when the bass hits or if there is something i could buy to make the led lights flash when the bass hits.
LED Spot Light? You know the big spot lights you see in the sky. Can you make one out of LED lights? If so can you have different colors like red and would it be cheaper to run?
LED Light Hookup? I purchased a set of very small LED lights to put in my dash to light my gauges, there are only two wires coming from the LED one is all black the other is black with a white line, there were NO instructions. Do I hook the all black to a ground and the black with white to hot in the fuse box or what is the proper hookup for these LEDs???.
power led light? okay, i want to rig my computer to where i can attatch this led light i have laying around, i just dont know a power supply i can hook the led light up to that is 100% safe to me and my computer, i was thinking about hooking the negative and positive ends of the light to the negative and possitive wires of the power button, would that work or no, what can i hook it to?
making a led light show out of fuze bottles? i really like the fuze refresh drinks. peach mango to be specific. i want to make these bottles light up. ive tried christmas lights and they get REAL hot. they actualy melt the outer plastic i want to use led lights. i know they are cool and dont burn out easily or often. they also use less energy. perfect solution i dont know what kind of led bulb would have similar brightness to christmas lights and where to get them second of all i think it would be need to have them flashing. ive seen these big glass block centerpieces that change colors, i want to do something like that. is there a circuit board diagram i can use and buy the parts to make the bulbs flash like crazy. i would really like to hook them up to a computer and somehow have colors blink with the music i have playing. That would be awesome. can i do that for a somewhat affordable price.. less than about 30 bucks.. i could do programming if i had to. any help would be great. thanks.
