Outdoor Fireplaces Questions
Outdoor fireplace design? I purchased a firebox to install to create an outdoor gas fireplace on my wooden deck, but I am having trouble figuring out how to design the exterior of the fireplace (to cover the metal box part). The firebox will be on top of the wooden deck. I like the look of rock, but don't know how great an idea that is on top of a wooden deck? The deck is covered, but not enclosed, if that makes a difference. Any ideas or suggestions?
Build a Brick/Stone Outdoor Fireplace? I would like to find plans to build an outdoor fireplace. We are wanting to create a great outdoor living room and think that as grand fireplace will set it off. I just need to know if this project is something that can be taken on myself or should I hire out a contractor.

How can I remove rust from an outdoor fireplace screen? I have a Coleman outdoor fireplace with a metal screen that has become very rusty. I would like to paint it but I know that I have to remove ALL of the rust or it will return. I would order a new screen but it has been discontinued.
Weber Outdoor Gas Fireplace - Opinions Please!? I am considering purchasing a Weber outdoor gas fireplace to replace my outdoor wood burning fireplace. My daughter loves to go outside and roast hot dogs and marshmallows. I am tried of waiting for the fire to go out (I'm paranoid!) and having wood on hand. I thought the Weber would be a good alternative. Any opinions or experiences you could share? Thanks!
Whats the best product - procedure to use to remove a "Duraflame" smoke stain from my outdoor marble fireplace I just installed an outdoor wood burning fireplace and last night I had my first fire. Instead of using wood, I used a duraflame log which burned nicely for a while but after a couple hours (and a little poking to get the fire going) it started to smoke rather badly. As a result, the marble on front of the fireplace has been stained by the smoke of the duraflame and I'm having a real hard time removing it. Is there a product or procedure that someone can recommend to remove the smoke damage? I've been told that the duraflame logs are basically made from a waxy substance and that the smoke damage caused by one of these "logs" is a little different than smoke damage caused by burning wood. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Designs for outdoor brick fireplace? We are building a pavilion in our backyard and are scouring the internet looking for designs for brick fireplaces to put in a pavilion... does anyone have a link to a site that has designs for one? Thank you in advance for your help!
Outdoor furnace? Please we can not afford home heating oil its 2.99 a gallon as of this morning. We want to get one of those out door furnaces that can burn coal pellets wood anything really. After doing some research it looks like they cost 5000 dollars. Why I am not to sure,its just a big fireplace with a small building around it. We do not have that much money to spend. My husband and brother are extremely handy is there any kind of kit you can buy to build your own then just build a shed around it? Please we are freezing!! We have a oil burning hot water base board heat now. I believe you can just hook up the outdoor heater to the existing furnance? Please any help or info.......
Need Catchy Name for Rock Wall and Water Features Business; any ideas? Our rock wall business will serve mainly Utah. Main services include Rock Walls, Water Features, Walk-out basements, Outdoor Fireplaces/firepits and dug-out trampoline pits. I need a catchy name and a slogan for the business. Does anyone do crafts with pine cones? I have 5 pine trees, always dropping something from them, some drop the huge 12-15 " cones and some are like 8" inches, if anyone wants them, I will start saving them for you. I have been burning them in the outdoor fireplace **People actually buy pine "straw" here, actually pine needles, I wish they would come and just take it from my yard by raking th @#$^ pine needles It is called "long leaf pine"...just long needles to me
Path and patio material? There's a chunky sand-like material that I'm trying to find the name of. This material packs down quite firm, but surface is somewhat loose. I've come up with 'hoggin' but read it is more prominent in the southern states. I'm in Central IL btw. I'm building a short path that opens to a semi-circular sitting area with an outdoor fireplace. How do I start a fire?? It's a somewhat large outdoor fireplace, you know, the one with the stove top and chimney. We're cooking out tomorrow and I suck at starting fires... no logs, just planks (junk wood) and plenty of tinder and kindling. Help. I need to repair a brick on an outdoor firepit that I broke. Can someone help me? The firepit is round and submerged in the concrete about 18". The brick i broke off is one of the ones around the top "lip" of the fireplace. It's rounded on the edges and cut in the shape of a capitol "A" almost (if you can imagine). I need to either fix it myself or pay someone to fix it for me. I live in so cal near hermosa/redondo/manhattan beach.
