Gel Fireplace Information? I want to buy a gel fireplace. Anybody have one? Were they hard to assemble (I will be doing it by myself)? What kind did you get? Did they look nice? Is it worth it?
Gel Fuel Fireplace? Can you convert a gel fuel fireplace into a gas fireplace? If so, what is involved in it? Purchasing gel fuel is a pain.
Gel burning fireplace inserts? I have a fake fireplace made of what seems like a hard plastic and want to put a ventless gel burning insert inside, is this possible without danger? Are they insulated?
Does anybody own a gel fuel fireplace ? I was wondering if anyone had a gel-fuel fireplace if so what kind of fuel gel do you use. The one i have has a odor left to desire, don't care much for it.
Electric Fireplace vs. Gel Fuel Fireplace? I am thinking of putting a fireplace in my living room on an interior wall, just for looks and maybe a little extra heat in the winter. I dont know anyone who has either of these fireplaces so i was hoping for a little advice from someone with some experience in this area-- thanks for your help.
Can you use gel canisters in decorative fireplace? My fireplace is decorative only- an old one that used to work, but doesn't any longer. I know you can buy the fake logs along with the gel canisters (such as Sungel) without having to buy the entire fireplace kit. My searching online says both that you can use the cannisters in a decorative fireplace if the flue is closed. Other searchs say there is no smell, fumes, smoke...and so implies that it wouldn't matter whether the flue was open or closed. Does anyone have any idea about this. Thanks for helping!
Need suggestions on decorating (color, blinds, etc)? My house has an open concept (the living room, dining room, and kitchen is in one big room. I have light peach tile in the entire area. My furniture is dark brown. What color should I paint the walls, and what color blinds should I look into? I like the wood blinds. Also, where can I find a cushion for my breakfast nook? It's probably about 4 feet long. Does anyone have those electric (or gel fueled) fireplaces? The one you can buy from Home Depot. Pros and Cons?
Question about converting from wood burning to gas or another fireplace that outputs heat? We have a wood burning fireplace that's an energy hog. Lots of cold air penetrates through it even with the damper closed. On top of that, it supposedly has a crack in the lining that will cost about $350 to fix. I hate it and don't use it. Do I have any options for getting an insert that will enable me to use the fireplace to generate heat? Maybe one of those ventless gel-fuel deals? If I get an insert or whatever else you suggest, please let me know if I'll need to fix the lining in order to use it. I do not have propane or natural gas in the house. Thanks! Please state if you're talking about a vented or a ventless option. Thanks!
I Want To Buy An Electric Fireplace? I live in an apartment where I do not control my heat. I live in New York State, so it gets pretty cold here. It is permissable to have a fireplace and I already know the pros and cons of having one. My question is: should I go with electric or use burning gels. Which is more realistic, economical and warmer. Can anyone recommend a particular site, store or brand? I have searhed all the sites I could think of and obviously came up with almost no information. I even tried consumer rated sites. HELP! It is getting cold real fast here!
