those home decorating shows?

I have tryed to do a room for under 500 dollars, like the one show, and I have tryed to do a room for under 2000 dollars and I'm telling you it's so no not even possable. without ending up looing like u went shopping at Big Lots ! help! the one idea I tryed was very close to the doom on the show design on a dime were she said she went to a DISCOUNT store and picked up a chair and two lamps and two tables "all for just 358.00 dollars. but when I went to buy the almost exzact items it rang up $832.68 so how can these shows make these clams? or do they just get really BIG tv show discounts?

1. I'll bet they get discounts but they just don't tell you that. It's false advertising in my book.
2. Because they do things on their own, shop at thrift shops, use things for that which is not their main purpose and have creative minds, which you don't.
3. I do think they "luck out" with their bargin finds, but they also have high quality carpenters working for free. I also think that you can make things look a ton better in pictures than real life! Just browse an Ikea catalog, then go to the store, big difference.
