home decorating.i have a very small bathroom?

my bathroom is 5'x5' i want to make it seem larger how can i do it without tearing up anything or knocking out any walls

  1. Adding more mirrors is always a great way to make a room look bigger. Also, painting the walls a darker color and leaving the ceiling white can help. Also, try to eliminate any unnecessary clutter on your counters and around the bathroom if possible.
  2. Dark colored walls, clear plastic shower curtain (not a huge, dense fabric one), as much natural light as possible.
  3. You didn't say if you're remodeling or just decorating. If you're remodeling and using tile, use large tile (12x12) on the walls and floor. Get a pedestal sink, they save a lot of room. If you're not remodeling, keep your paint colors light. Use verical stripes on your walls and shower curtains. I have just finished a 7X8 bathroom that was HORRIBLE. I tiled floors and walls, got a beautiful glass vanity sink that floats above the floor, spa tub, and new toilet. Now my fiance and myself can both fit in the bathroom!
  4. Try mirrors or remove the shower curtain and install glass shower doors.
  5. Start with a pedestal sink and limit the clutter. Try a storage cabinet above the toilet and for the vanity mirror find one with storage recessed or surface mount. I have a small bathroom as well so I feel your pain. Good Luck.
  6. All good answers , so far. Keep everything light and as transparent as possible. Mirrors, glass sinks and shower enclosure. But realise a pedestal sink reduces storage space, although there are some nice cabinets you can install over toilet they always seem to crowd the space. Avoid all clutter by investing in a rolling cart for toiletries etc. that you can keep close by (maybe hall closet) and roll in for morning toilette, baths etc,
  7. All good ideas so far, I'd go with light colours though, maximising the natural light as much as possible with mirrors. If you want to bring colour into the room, accessorise with darker colours.
