How should I proceed to repair paint, possibly roofing,?
Just found out at a corner of one bedroom, there are painting cracks (an area of 1 foot by 1 foot almost fall out). It seems that it started from the celing. I can see water marks. Even some mold can be seen. When I look at the other area, I saw a long cracking line along the upper window frame as well. No sure whether it is due to too dry or too wet condition, but should not be related to the first one. I guess the roofing may got some damage from early storm or hail. Will this be covered by insurance (apparently too long after the incident)? Should I ask the insurance first or I let the roofing people to check whether they will file the claim for me. Should I leave the paint repair after the roof is checked to give the roofing people more clue? All in all, painting, roofing, insurance, where should i start first?

- Put some money aside and then hire a competent professional to do it for you. You will be much happier and you'll have more time to do something that you really want to do.
- if it is a roof problem then you need to fix the roof before the ceiling or you will wast your money on a new ceiling where are you located i am a roofer you can e-mail me if you need help with a roofer or need some help in general chirstophernewbern@yahoo.com
- you need to ask the insurance company if there going to cover the cost of the repair and then hire a roofing company to do the repair up on the roof and then get the cealing painted that way the roofer is going to be able to locate the leak easer
- hello there! first get a quote ( or several ) on repairing the roof.. then find out if the insurance company will cover it. then fix the leak(assuming it's in the roof...maybe a near bye window?) then you can fix the sheetrock or paint. if you try to paint first, then the problem will only return... if you call the insurance company first they will probably ask for quotes.. (check out contractors that offer free quotes). good luck! hope this helps lj
