We are going to get solar panels on our roof but there is ice on top of the roof, do the people have to wait?

to put the solar panels on top of the roof have to wait. We are concerned that they might get hurt. We did get are permit.

  1. They will determine if it is safe. I've had roof people delay a project because of ice.
  2. It would be pretty tricky to install panels on an icy roof. Also there could be some water leakage into the attic as they are drilling holes for the mounts. BTW, I had most of my panels mounted over the garage, just in case there was a leak. Sure enough I had one. Was very happy to have it over the garage instead of the attic.
  3. Give the company a call to let them know what your situation is. They will be best able to tell you what conditions are required to install the panels.
