Approximate price of installation/sq ft of Pergo flooring in Southern California Area?

Hi, I am planning to have new flooring installed in my condo. The approximate area of installation is 550 sq. ft (bedroom + living room + dining area). I have settled on laminate as my choice for flooring and decided to go with Pergo. I havent contacted any installers yet but just for reference purpose what do you guys think the installation costs (removing existing carpeting + installing laminate) should be (in terms of $/sq ft). I live in Inland empire area in Southern California thanks for your time.

  1. Actually the cheapest way is to do it yourself. Its not that difficult to do it. Contact Pergo, they even give you a step by step instruction, or buy a Kit comes with DIY videos. Saves you TONS of money that way. I just did my floor of about 1000 sq. ft. I did not anything about it, but I did it with ease. I am proud of it, and really did not take that much time, like just one weekend. DONE.
  2. Hi, I just had mine done by an installer, about the same sq. footage, and it was $2700.00. They did a beautiful job and were half the price of another highly advertised company which I found out there were a lot of complaints about. Shop around but they really pressure you into signing up when they come out and give you a quote so be prepared to say they will have to wait for you to get other quotes. The company I went with is Donikian Construction, they are in L.A. and Orange Counties so not sure if you are close enough but check them out. The floor they did for me is the best looking of any I have seen in other homes. http://www.hardwoodinstallers.com/
