My vinyl floor seems to have developed some stains from the floor mats (rubber base). How do I remove them?
I have tried using strong bleach, but that does did not do any wonders. Any other ideas?

- Unfortunately, that stain is more than likely permanent. Stains caused by rubber and vinyl mats, dyes, asphalt, chemicals and other products that migrate into floor covering or cause chemical reaction tend to be permanent. What I have done in the past to reduce stains from floormats is to scrub the area with Cascade Liquid Dishwashing detergent. (Test in a small area first). It greatly reduced the appearance of the stain.
- Unfortunately, to buy new mats would be my first suggestion. However, I will be interested to see if anyone else has a solution that works, but as a house flipper, I have rarely had success in removing those types of stains from vinyl flooring. And I tried many different kinds of cleaners/sovents because I wasn't worried if they made it worse or not. I was already budgeting to replace the flooring so if it worked, it would save me money and time. The best you can normally do is to reduce how noticeable the stains are by scrubbing with a brush and a non-abrasive cleaner. If you can find attractive mats to replace the ones that are there, use those until you are ready to replace the entire floor.
