how do i clean rubber floor mats?

they are stationary floor mats. The kind that are used in martial art studios.....thanks for the help

  1. It depends on what they are dirty with. If it's just general dirt, wash 'em like you would a floor. Vinegar (dilute with water) will clean 'em great- organic and non-toxic, cuts mineral stains, oil, grease, and gets rid of odor. Or you might try using baking soda and windex (don't use the baking soda with the vinegar). Use a sponge, mop, cloth, sponge mop, whatever.
  2. For rubber floor mats I take them outside to the driveway and spray on some cleanser like 409. I rub that around and then let them soak a little while, Then I take a garden hose and spray them off.
  3. The best way is with a steam cleaner, and the next best way is with hot soapy water (dish-soap)and then rinse them off.
