  1. Certainly "composites" of quality are wauranteed, and likely will last as long as it takes to become tired of them. The Lamination process has advanced in technological terms, and varieties are numerous. Proper installation is as much an issue in any type of flooring,,,,even carpet, and should be done by someone knowing what they're doing. I personally prefer tile, or REAL hardwood, but budget might be an issue for you as well? Research is your friend,,,as is questioning flooring contractors as opposed to flooring sales people. Not knowing anything about you, or your likes or dislikes, I suggest that a decent laminate will pay for itself in the amount of time you'll be walking on it, and at some point when it no longer suits you,,,change it.   2. I saw some in the doctors office last week. I knew it wasn't wood when i walked on it, but I had to touch it to figure out what it was. It looked real good.
  3. My husband installed a pergo floor about four years ago, three dogs and three children, no scratches what so ever...highly recommend the pergo, don't know about the other brands. No it is not rubber, it's like a laminate counter, there must be a photo of real wood under clear laminate. Samples at home improvement stores in all colors
  4. Are you sure it is rubber - it might be a cork floor.
  5. Neat stuff. Must be a special purpose item.? Have seen it in medical facilities. Might try medical specialty supplier.
