- there is 100 square feet in a square of shingle. There are normally three bundles to a square. The top quality shingles are a little thicker so those normally are four bundles to a square. To answer the question there are 33 square feet or 25 square feet in a bundle depending on the quality of the shingles.

- I think that 33 1/3 is referring to a vinyl record album. My father used to sell roofing supplies. I think I recall him saying a term like 30 squares or something
- I've seen anywhere from 3 to 5 bundles per square (33 1/3 to 20 sf/bundle). 3 bundles /square is typical.
