where do you place knobs on new cabinets?

bought tall cabinets for office. now i don't know what the rules of thumb is on where to put the handles. top? bottom? middle?

2. Who goes in the cabinet most often - get their input, as you'll avoid a pissed off co-worker. If it's you, then put them in a location where you can easily open the cabinet while working or carrying things. Practical placement outweighs tradition in the workplace.
3. As Big Ski says, put them where people can reach them. That is the only rule of thumb you need. Ours are near the bottom corner on the upper cabinets and near the top corner on the lower cabinets.
