Is there a design rule on using knobs vs. pulls on cabinets?
Doing a full kitchen remodel with all new cabinets. Having a difficult time choosing the hardware. When should you use the round knobs and when should you use the longer handle type drawer pulls on kitchen cabinets? Should they always be combined together in the kitchen?

- you can use which ever, but they were initally intended for drawers to have pulls and cabinets to have knobs. i am going to remodle my kitchen soon and using all pulls. easier for my arthritic hands
- That depends on the style you're after. You can use a combination of both or entirely one or the other. It's up to you.
- My specialty.... Consider this... Drawer fronts have a lot of weight to content with, being that they are drawers. One screw hole from a knob is not the best choice strength-wise. Recommendation... go for pulls (2 screw holes)... they will last longer then a knob would. Door fronts are just doors... no weight attached to it... either a knob or a pull would suffice. A pull and a knob can be combined together or just by themselves.
- I FEEL YOU CAN USE THEY STYLE YOU LIKE THE BEST. PERSONALLY, I WOULD USE THE SAME COLOR ON ALL THE HARDWARE BUT YOUR CHOICE WILL DEPEND ON WHAT YOU WANT TO LOOK AT EVERY SINGLE DAY. WHEN I BOUGHT MY HOUSE THE OWNERS HADN'T INSTALLED KNOBS ON ANY OF THE CABINET DOORS. IT LOOKED VERY CLEAN AND I LIKED IT BUT I HAVE SOME HEAVY STUFF IN SOME OF THE DRAWERS SO HANDLES WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE. WHEN I REDO IT LATER NEXT SUMMER I PLAN TO HAVE HANDLES AND THERE ARE TONS OF VERY COOL STYLES OUT THERE. HAVE FUN DECORATING!
