LED Light Hookup?
I purchased a set of very small LED lights to put in my dash to light my gauges, there are only two wires coming from the LED one is all black the other is black with a white line, there were NO instructions. Do I hook the all black to a ground and the black with white to hot in the fuse box or what is the proper hookup for these LEDs???.

- because it is a light emitting DIODE, the polarity is obviously important. i'd use an ohm-meter to determine which lead is the anode and which is the cathode
- You need to have a resistor in the wire to the LED. Most LED's need around 2 volts at 20 milliamps. For your car, you could use about a 750 ohm resistor with each LED. Without the resistors the LED's will burn out! My guess is that the lead with the white line should go to power and the black to ground but I can't guarantee that. If there are any numbers for the LED's you should be able to look them up on the web and get the lead information.
