Help changing LED light in optical mouse.?

Hi, I recently bought an optical mouse of my favourite baseball team the Toronto Blue Jays and I'm looking to change the LED color of the mouse from Red to Blue to match the team. The mouse looks horrible when lighted Red since it is a see-through mouse and the team is the BLUE Jays. I bought 2 Blue LED lights from a RadioShack type store and I got a friend to solder and replace the Red LED lights with the Blue LED one I bought. However, it would not light up. When he put the Red LED light back, it would. What could be the issue here? Does anyone have any suggestions? He thinks it's the voltage, but if this is the case, where would I buy a Blue LED light suitable for a optical mouse? Thanks in advance!

1. take the mouse to radio shack and let their guys help you with that...most of those stores have great customer service and can fix it for you...their work is guaranteed, so if they can't do it in the store, they will ship it to their service center and get it back to you as fast as possible...most service calls are done in a week...
