what is the cost of metal roofing?

In my area it's about 2 dollars per running foot that's in central Alabama. I just put a metal roof on my house and the material alone was about 3000 dollars. I did the work myself.
It is in my opinion the most expensive roof that you can put on a roof. Depending on what metal you use and the thickness, the roof may well run into $250 per square. Each square is 100 square feet. Add in any partial pieces due to eaves and or hips without waste. Copper roofs are much more. This price is based on a typical gauge galvalume roof with supplies from Metalmart.
Mine was about $3500, small-very small-house. But it lasts for 40 years or more.
