Has anyone ever used metal roofing as a retaining wall?

We are using T-posts every 8 feet and running 2 rows of 1x4's to attach the roofing to. I mostly wondered how the metal roofing would hold up to the elements underground or with dirt building up on one side of it. What do you think?

1. would not do it not strong enough
2. If it is holding up to the weight, it should outlast a wooden retaining wall. I would not recommend using the metal to truely hold back a hill side (lived in the Black Hills and there are retaining walls designed to prevent the entire hill from sliding into the house rather than purely decorative/curing a sloping area).
