How far apart should the purlins be? I've heard 12", 16" and 24" ??

  1. Watch the show HGTV
  2. I don't know ... I just think it's funny your name is stank.
  3. they can be any of those. shoot for the middle when it doubt.
  4. Most I have seen are 24".... in view that you are using METAL and not tile
  5. 2 ft
  6. Actually, it can be anywhere between 8 and 12
  7. I assume you haven't purchased the metal roofing yet. The manufacturer of the roofing always dictates the spacing of the purlins. If it is used metal roofing, find out the gauge of the metal and compare it to another brand. I'm sure any roofing supplier would be happy to help you determine this.
  8. If your roofing is 18" use 16" OC, if 25" roofing use 24" OC.
  9. 24 inches that would put it at 2 ft centers
