First edge your roof Then use weather watch for the bottom row unless your eave hangs over your house more than 2 or 3 ft. Then use two rows of it. Then paper the rest of the house. If you have any valleys use weather watch or also known as Ice and Water. Then you'll need a starter row on the bottom of the roof. Then Stagger your shingles six inches which will look like a stair step. Also make sure you have proper ventilation, which most roofs already have so just make sure to replace with new vents. No one likes old and used ones. If you have 3 tabs, there junk but if you put them on they'll also be a picture on the rapper, but I don't recommend those stupid shingles. Architectural ones aren't much more.
