has anyone installed low voltage lighting into soffit panels around the outside of a house.?

How is it done?

  1. No, but it sounds like a cool idea.
  2. No, but if you can find the right lights, this will be the cheapest and most cost effective way to light the exterior. You would only need to provide a 120-volt, 15-amp circuit to a power pack (transformer) anywhere in the attic. From the power pack, you string low-voltage wiring wherever you need the lights. The low voltage lights would be smaller, would require smaller holes and would most-likely snap into place. The tradeoff is that low-voltage lights normally don't have as much light output as 120-volt lights.
