hi i am remodeling my kitchen and i am trying to take a wall border off.any ideas on how to do that.?

i have used a bothroom cleaner on it befor but i am needing something new.it is a small area to work with.

  1. There's a steam tool you can rent specifically for wallpaper removal.
  2. If it is wallpaper you may need to score it and steam it off.
  3. there is a chemical called dif that you can pick up at a paint/hardware store. This will desolve the glue holding the paper up.
  4. The best way is to use good old fashion soapy water....just keep soaking the wallpaper until it pulls off. Don't worry about soaking the wall...I've redone many houses and have taken off a lot of wallpaper over the years. If the wallpaper has a real shinny coating, you may need to buy a scoring tool to poke holes in it allowing the water to drain in behind it.
  5. Go to Home Depot or Lowes. Buy a wallpaper scorer, a paint scraper and wallpaper remover solution. It looks like a disc, you rub it over the border in a circular motion. Then saturate the border with the solution. Wait 10 to 15 minutes and the border will easily scrape off. Then wash the paste off the wall (with the wallpaper remover solution), rinse and you are all set!
  6. Score (scratch) the border. Home Depot or any home improvement store will have a scoring tool. Then get wall paper paste remover... concentrate. Mix it with VERY hot water. With a large sponge wipe the 'scored' border. It will almost fall off in 10 minutes.
  7. i scored it then in a spray bottle sprayed down Small sections at a time and pulled it down ...what ever didn't come off the first time i resprayed and did more
