- Only tip I will give you is to make the stack or flue at least 8 feet high . You still can get smoked out when it doesnt have a high enough stack.
- there are so many suggestions but may i think you consult with expert about it so it is beneficial for you .... url given below from here you can get the help........... http://www.whitestarliving.com
- I have been looking for designs as well... I have had no luck... The closest I have found has been www.rumford.com and that can be modified to go outdoors. I have also found some books at my local library. If you have any plans that you find please please email me to let me know.
- This depends on what you mean by an outdoor fireplace. There are outdoor fireplaces which are similar in style and form to an indoor fireplace. However, there are also various types of permanent or free-standing fire pits for outdoor fires and cooking as well. Some are upright and shaped like a chimney (such as a chiminea) and some are low, bowl-shaped pits which can either be free-standing or permament brick or stone fire pits. Tips for building one of these brick or stone fire pits can be found at http://www.firepit-and-grilling-guru.com/build-a-fire-pit.html . You can also find info on types of outdoor fire pits at http://www.firepit-and-grilling-guru.com/outdoor-fire-pit.html . One tip though, be careful where you choose to build an outdoor fireplace or firepit. Do not build on or near flammable materials and try to avoid being more than 20 feet from adjacent structures or overhanging trees which could catch fire. A full length chimney helps prevent this problem, but an open fire pit should be as far from these things as possible.
- Most important tip Id say is to pick a spot away from all trees and tall ones especailly ..make sure you above is fireplace freiendly..the rest is up to you..My dad has had one for 50 years and he built his out of metal lathe and stucco its really cool and still works fine..when I was a kid I roasted bread balls on it..ha ha we thought we were making bread..it was fun.
