This bookcase is in my livingroom surrounded with windows I have a oat color sectional leather chair and hardwood floors with area rugs in red, tan, green

  2. This would be a great place to showcase any collections or photos you have. Stick to a theme (color, item, etc.) to create a unified and pleasing look. If you're a bibliophile, fill it with books, both standing up and stacked to keep it interesting. A few well-placed black and white photos of people or places you love will invite conversation from guests. Or if you collect something (like pottery, natural items, stuff with dogs on it, whatever) arrange your collection there so you can see those things you love to collect. Group items in groups of odd numbers (3s, 5s, etc.) and put similar colors or shapes together. Having many different items will be chaotic-looking, but grouping similar items makes a nice statement. Check some of the MANY decorating magazines you can find at a Barnes & Noble or Borders Books and you will find TONS of great ideas. Even Better Homes and Gardens online (www.bhg.com) have tons of slideshows with great decorating ideas.
