what is the best way to lay hardwood flooring around a stone fireplace?

i am using enginerd flooring and some of the stones sick out further than others

  1. I had that problem lasy year and all I ended up doing was scribing with a pencil the stone itself on the wood and carefully using a jig saw to cut or if you have one a scroll saw would be best

  3. I install flooring for a living. When I come across fireplaces like the one you described I scribe the board with a scribing tool, cut with a jigsaw. You will still probably have some small gaps, so I would go ahead and invest in a tube of Bruce acrylic filler. That stuff is great and you can keep the rest on hand for and small scratches. Also try to run your boards away from the fireplace.
