2. vented are more realistic, I don't have time or can't even think of 7 cons of getting a ventless
3. If I remember correctly, ventless does not put out heat. You might check with your fireplace retailer....
4. I prefer ventless. They are easier to install. They aren't completely ventless, you still should crack open a window
