residential ventless boiler using natural gas available?

when renovating my house(built ca. 1880), i consider to take the current chimney down to make more interior room for other uses. to make this possible, the boiler (for steam radiator of the house) has to find a place to vent, or is there such thing as ventless boiler or furnance available for the residential heating system? i heard of ventless fireplaces. but i think they generate much less btu's instead.
