2. There is a condo complex near by- they installed 26 ventless fireplaces all have given them grief. Any time you burn fuel you create carbon monoxide. Where does it go in a ventless situation? Hmmm?
3. I've had a ventless fireplace for about 7 or 8 years and I haven't had any trouble. I have a carbon monoxide detector in the room and it has never detected any carbon monoxide in the room.
