Plumbing Old Drain Connections. . .?
I am looking to re plumb a bathroom in an old house. Water supply is copper pipe, and the drain is a 1-1/2 or 2" thick walled pipe (maybe galvanized?) with NPT connections. When I run a new sink and shower can I run PVC drains? Is there an adapter to fit PVC to metal drains?

- Yes, rubber/steel surround clamp fitted will join both pipes to code. Very common to use these in drains. Snake the old line before adding new plumbing...precautionary step.
- Yes you can. A drain adapter will have female threads and us. accept the threads on the galvanized drain lines.
- go to a plumbing supply store tell them what you are doing, they will supply you, yes you can make the connections
- the part you need is called a "no-hub" connector....it looks like a piece of radiator hose and two clamps.
