How do I tie in a new bathroom in my basement to the existing plumbing?

- Get a plumber.
- You have to break the floor to put in a sump pit. Plumb all drains and toliet to the sump pit. Place an ejector pump (different than a sump pump) into the pit and plumb it to the existing drain tile using a saddle couplier making sure the "pitch" of the line is toward the existing drain tile. The sump pit must have a secure gasket type cap on it to keep any sewer gasses from entering the basement. The pit must be connected with another pipe to the existing vent stack to release those gases through the roof. A 20 amp dedicated power outlet must be wired up near the pit so the ejector pump will have a supply of power. Some hardware stores now carry a sump box that you can hook up to their products which eliminates the need to dig a pit, however all the other steps are still needed. Hiring a qualified person is really worth the expense.
