Where can I find o-ring seal around London?

My espresso machine requires new o-ring rubber (or silicone, I don't know) seal. It's not a stove-top device for which plenty of seals available online. It's Woolworths own brand - Elevation and they say they don't have any spares for it. I was pretty happy with the machine while it was working so I don't want to buy a new one if 15 pence seal is the solution. The problem is that I cannot describe exactly what I need (the seal itself is not just a plain ring). I need to bring the old seal to a store with large range of o-ring seals on sale and say "I want to replace this one". Is there such a store in London? I tried DIY and plumbing supplies, but they weren't able to help me. R-r-right. Thanlks for the answers, but let me clarify: I'm looking for retail store where I could come in and ask for "this thing". I have found a bunch of o-ring suppliers that will be happy to manufacture a seal up to my specifications and sell me a pack of 45000. That's not exactly what I need. Search for "industrial supply gaskets London" yields pretty much nothing useful. Thanks in advance! Guys, you are great! Thanks a lot for the feedback! I think I need to clarify again: it's far from being just "o-ring", it is plain on one side and round on the other, it has a slit along the middle for a metal thing to fit into and a whole lot of features that are hard for me to explain. I tried to picture it, but the images are quite unclear and my drawing skills are limited. It's likely that I'll be able to transform an usual o-ring into something that would fit for the purpose, but I'm not sure about that and that's why I'd like to show the thing to a specialist first. Anyway, if plane o-ring could be used for this machine, it would be of 2''24 outer diameter and 2'' inner diameter ring suitable for food processing, able to handle high temperatures and pressure (15 bar). P.S. I will visit Pirtek, they are close. Thanks for the hint!

  1. I would try looking for an industrial supply that carries gaskets, they should carry about any size o-ring you need.

  3. First, I don't have the name of a retail store but I do suggest you look at the on-line retailer we use for all manner of seals and gaskets. It's McMaster-Carr (www.mcmaster.com). when you go on their page, on the left side type in "o ring" in the search box and it will show you all they sell along with a guide for selecting the proper material for the ring. Their selection is huge, for example there are 3,684 products under "o ring"! The searching capability though is very easy to use. The cost depends on the material and size but some are as low as a few cents each and they sell in low quantities. You'll need to measure the current o-ring you have from the expresso machine so you can do a proper search. Good luck.
  4. If you have a look in yellow pages for your local hydraulic supply companies (Hose manufactures (Pirtek for example)). Head down there with the espresso machine and they will be able to find the correct size of "O" ring for you. Typically the hydraulic guy's have large "O" ring sets that have an assortment of different sized "O" rings.
