Had a shower pump fitted a year ago+ by a plumbing co. They have just sent me the invoice. Do I have to pay?

  1. Of course - you can't dispute they fitted it! Their only mistake is slow invoicing!
  2. Yes you have to pay you could try & get them to reduce the price with sending the invoice so late.It is worth asking they can only say Yes Or No.Good Luck
  3. Yes. you have to pay, they have every right to add interest onto the invoice as well.
  4. Go to "Ask The Layer" . I wouldn't pay it until I contacted a layer.
  5. Yes of course, why on earth would you not ? You've had a year's free credit and you're complaining ?
  6. not sure where you stand legally but if you are happy with the pump and their workmanship i would pay it after all they've done a good job for you and you have had the benefit of holding onto the cost of it for over a year don't punish them just because they haven't been up to speed with their bookwork you never know when you will need a good plumber again and it's not nice to not pay people for their services
  7. /In answer to your question, Yes you do have to pay. Why shouldn't you?.the company fitted the pump and they must have done a good job otherwise you would have complained.
  8. Yes you do have to pay it. I understand (I'm not a lawyer) that the time period is 5 years i.e if they hadn't invoiced you for 5 years I don't think you would have to pay but after 12 months - yes you need to pay it.
  9. Maybe they should get the money first next time! and maybe then let you wait a year for the installation, just no pleasing some people, it is disgraceful that you even consider not paying.
  10. Did you think they worked and provided their service for free? lol Yeah you got to pay, you knew that they were providing you a service in which you were being charged for.
  11. um, yeah. Why wouldn't you pay for a service someone did for you? What if your boss didn't pay you this week???
  12. if you have not paid it before then of coarse you should pay it
  13. Legally? Yes, you do. Work done = goods received. The fact that the dozy eejit didn't invoice you for the work until a year later is totally irrelevant. Of course, he's obviously earning too much if he can forget about your bill.... the evil wee voice says let the b*gger sweat!
  14. If you don't want to pay you should of fitted it yourself. If you to dumb to then pay.
  15. Sure you do.
  16. i'd say pay it , it will cost you more in the end if they decide to take action against you.
