are u.k. taps compatable with egyptian plumbing fittings?

1. Hi dubsafari, What an interesting yet seemingly pointless question. I like aimless questions. Are you going ex-pat to Egypt and taking your taps with you ? Factually, as since the UK went sort of metric, although I have mph in the car, and I measure in stones & pounds, and a jar of jam is still one pound in weight, not 454g., Egyptian plumbing seems to be in accordance with UK fittings, but ... Having spent a bit of time in Cairo, nothing is certain. Even water coming down the tubes to the taps is an uncertainty. Happy plumbing, wherever you are ! Bob.
2. British taps are 15 or 10mm threads. Egyptian taps will more likely be european 8mm threads but??? im not sure, sorry

4. yes if your thinking of taking some over there you should not have any problems i bought some from there and brought them back and they fitted fine here
5. Uk taps will fit the majority of egyption units with adapters being available for any mini/microbore systems that are in use.
