I got a ticket while loading my van in a loading area.?

A few months back I went to a hardware shop, in Seven Kings to collect some bag of cement they had got in for me specially. I parked my sign written plumbing van outside the shop, in a loading area. I was gone about 5 minutes. When I returned a parking warden was there sticking a ticket on my windscreen,. I explained I was in a commercial vehicle in a loading area.. All quite legal and proper. He could see the reciept and the heavy bags of cement I was carrying. AHH yes he said.. your in a loading area but you have to leave your doors open to show your loading..What rubbish// How long do you think it would be before my power tools got stolen in an open unattended van He said.."sorry mate its not my fault its the council ( Redbridge). Soon after I got the usual summons from the Redbridge council. I wrote back and complained but to no avail. As far as I know they are still taking me to court. I will appeal. Anyone had similar experiences?

  2. Hopefully when you get to court they will throw it out as a waste of time. The only thing you can do is perhaps contact citizens advice. Keep a record of all correspondence to everyone you contact by email, phone or letter. Good luck!
  3. I got a 50 quid fine for a simaler situation
  4. Fight it. Let them take you to court if necessary. Have large photos of your van, the loading area, and the front of the hardware shop all ready as evidence. These muppets are on commission, so they'd ticket a bus if it was stopped too long...
  5. Can i suggest that you contact your insurance company and ask that one of their senior advisors go to court with you. If you are fined for parking without your doors open what message is this going to send out not just to other business people but also their insurers and the usual load of scroats who will wait for you to leave your vehicle and then help themselves to your posessions? If this is the case and the law has been changed in Redbridge then surely all local businesses would have been notified before now. Before this gets to court try a phone call also to your local MP and a letter to the chairperson of the local council. I think they will back off. Please do let us all know as the law in one area in this country is supposed to be the same elsewhere.
  6. Let them take you to court, you'll win. Too many people pay rather than go to court, when they can prove that what they were doing was legal.
  7. Sounds frivolous to me. I don't know Brittish law but this sounds like a load of crap. Go to court and call them on it!
  8. Last year a bus which was picking passengers up in a bus lay by in manchester was booked bya brain dead warden i would stick to your guns and fight them as they are all just useless scum.
