Plumbing question?
Will flushing one paper napkin in a toilet back up the pluming?
Public Comments
- no, if all is okay to start with one paper napkin will not hurt it at all
- There is absolutly no reason it would...If you are having trouble after this has happened than there is something else in the toilet or drain line... Do you have children???? They love to watch things go round -N- round...
- All depends on the type of paper napkin. There are those big brown paper napkins that can stop a commode.
- no do you know how many paper towels coffee filters and whatever work goes down my toilet when we run out of actual toilet paper.not to mention what the kids have flushed.it may not be the best thing in the world to do but once in a while shouldn't hurt at all.but if you're talking about lets say a upflow toilet with a (i probably won't spell this right ) masicater system that's a whole different story
- It will if there are other obstructions, but if it's a fast pipe to begin with then it should go right through.
- Not usually. You don't want to flush too many though, if there are tree roots getting into the plumbing somewhere or a buildup of waste, they'll get stuck on it and restrict the flow. Keep it up, and soon you'll need to run a snake down to chop it up.
- no, but the plumbing may suffer from repeated transgressions..
