Gas Fireplace - How much gas does the Pilot Light waste???

I was wondering if it was wasteful to leave the pilot light on during the winter, even if I don't use the gas fireplace everyday? Thanks

Why not update to a pilotless ignition? That way you won't be using any gas except for when the main burner is operating.
