is it possible to mount a flat screen t.v. over the fireplace?
Since I use my fireplace regularly, would the heat hurt the t.v.?

- Possible, yes. Recommended, no. The smoke could damage the screen.
- Quite possible and actually very popular. There are a few things you have to do first. If it is a brick or stone wall it is not suggested...but still possible. You need to look into mounts for you screen. Ech mount has a weight load and a desired screen size. They obviously reaise in size with weight support. They are easy to find, but the same is not said as far as mounting. Instructions are included with most but unless you are very handy I would stay away from doing it yourself! also make sure you have a good fireplace, smoke getting out can screw up any electronic
- I wouldn't, not only the heat, but the some of the smoke residue will get into the set, coating the electronics causing more heat build up. All I can think if you have a fireplace mantle, it might act as a shield to divert the heat away from the flat screen. Chow
- trust me it's not a good thing ,,,unless you like melted TV
- Your Instructions will tell you. Do not place this TV over were extreme heat, cold, dusty or humid area's are The question is up to you. You see alot of tv's over fire places. NOTE they are in the wall itself protected from heat. My brother has a plasma tv over the radiator and has not have any problems. Good luck
- Is the fireplace functional? If it is does it produce any heat or just for looks? If there is any heat that rises to where you are going to put the TV then I suggest not to mount it there unless you have a lot of extra money for a new TV every year. TV's need to breathe an exhaust the heat they produce while there on. Go to any larger TV in your house and feel around the back Hot isn't it. Hope this helps and sorry I couldn't suggest that it is OK to put it there I know that would have been a lot simpler.
