Do I need sliding mesh screens on my fireplace if I have a 3 panel screen in front of it?

  1. It couldn't hurt. The mesh is a spark catcher where the glass panels act more as a heat director.
  2. It is not required, but would be best to do.
  3. I guess it would depend what type of floor covering you have in front of your fireplace, is it carpet? If a spark got onto it, would it start a fire? The three panel screen is probably all you need, just excercise a bit of caution.
