Where can I find a simple fireplace insert that will radiate some of the heat back into the room?
I have a standard wood-burning fireplace and would like to increase the heat output somehow, without installing any complex devices that require wiring, etc.

- They make simple electric fireplaces. All you would need to do is plug them in. If your looking for something a little more complicated you can install a vent less gas fireplace.
- What you are looking for is called a "heat reflector" They are in expensive and slip in behind the logs reflecting more heat into the room. There is a link below that has them for sale and provides more information. I am sure they are available at any home improvement or fireplace store. Good Luck!
- Go to a store that deals in fireplaces. they have all types of accessories for firer places
- Northline Express carries a wide range of heat exchangers for open fireplaces. I have one. But you really are better off installing an EPA certified insert. Some of heat exchangers are over $400.00. At that price get an insert that is 60-70% efficient. Most open fireplaces are 10% at best.
