Can someone give me a DIY in painting?
I don't have the money to have it done. I am willing to give it time though. It can be a good project. it has 3 coats already and some rust bumps on the roof. 93 honda lx

- This is your car so, of course, it is your choice of the method. Car painting is not an easy task to complete, if you want it to look really good that is. It really would be better to allow a professional to paint your car. The car must be prepped for paint the correct way. Also, you must paint the parts of the car in the direction the car sits. (EX: the hood must be painted laying down, not in the up position). Also, you would like to prevent runs in the paint if at all possible. This is sometimes a very difficult task. My best wishes and luck sent your way!!!
- It will be a very good project and when you are done, you will be so dang proud of yourself, you may not ever get rid of it. Painting is mainly a lot of tedious work. But rewarding work. Sand the old stuff down to get the clear coat off. You want to take all the gloss off. When it is really dull, you can continue on with the paint removal or spray over what is there. If you just paint over that, do it lightly and let it flash for ten or fifteen minutes and wet sand with 1000 grit paper between coats. Don't spray too close or it will run. Three or four coats will be enough. Then put Clear Coat over it and you will love it.
