- You will need planning permission which means plans drawn up which will give info on construction. It's an easy DIY job though. Pin 6 x 2 to house wall with rawlplugs. Run 4 x 2 rafters down from this using angle brackets to tie. Rest rafters on 6 x 2 which is supported by 4 x 4 posts. Posts must be bolted to the ground to prevent movement at the bottom. Fasten roofing sheets directly onto rafters and don't forget drainage otherwise the rain runs onto the guy's drive next door. Good luck
- First do not use the corrugated roofing. It is thin, light and over a very few years becomes brittle. Use the double thickness roofing sheets as seen on most conservatories and you will get all the fitting advice for the roof from the supplier. Try Travis Perkins as a start. The house side needs a sturdy piece of timber and the supports should be placed at about 2 metre intervals. The rest you can find out by looking at others. Best of luck.
- Before starting discuss the plan with your neighbor. You will also need a permit. Notoriously difficult to get if neighbors object. Neighbors and the council in your area will be the best guide to an acceptable (to them) plan.
