Water/Plumbing problem?

There's no water in my apartment builing this morning. Can anyone tell me how this happens? This has happened twice last year. One time the water was out from 10:00 am until 11:30 pm. One would think the management would have fixed or upgraded the plumbing to avoid this problem from happening again.

  1. Water to a building gets shut off at the street usually because someone didn't pay the bill. Or if there are repairs to be done the water comming into the building can be shut offout side. Call the local utility and manager.
  2. plumbing takes time, they need to shut the water off if theyre changing the system,If they are replacing galvinized pipe with copper that can take days sometimes
  3. Well, there are many parts of a plumbing system, especially in a good sized apartment building. A number of these parts are critical to the operation of your water system. If any of these parts break down, the plumbing system is shut. How old is the building? How's the maintenance quality of the building? How much rent do you pay?
  4. The amount of rent you pay has nothing to do w/anything. You have the right to water. If you are paying your own water bill, contact the utility. If water is covered in your rent contact the mgr or landlord. It is irresponsible for your landlord to shut off the water for routine maintenance w/o notice. It is equally irresponsible to do so in case of an emergence with out an explanation afterwords. If you pay for water, it is right to get it or receive an explanation as to why you are not!
